This is a picture of them shaking each others hands for the first time since they were rivals. Couldn't find the bigger picture but the expressions alone say enough.
I've seen a lot of Canadian media commentary on the G8 summit and a lot dwelled on how Putin, Chirac and Chretien were going out of their way to try and mend fences with Bush, although Chirac still "appeared" to be the most "unconcerned" about the acceptance of any "overtures".
I think it would be in the interests of all the countries involved to put the tensions involving the Iraq situation behind them. Not necessarily "forgive and forget" but just to let it go and move forward. Be interesting to see if it does: these guys are all politicians in the end...
