I don't get shit like this. What the hell does beating up a group of junior girls have to do with initiation. Who dreams this stuff up?

the need to be accepted is pretty strong in some weak individuals with low self esteem

Personally I've never had to deal with something like this "initiation" but from a human point of view I can understand why this happened and will probably continue happening.

I'm just scared as a parent what will happen to my kid in a few years, and I'll try anything to teach my kid to be open minded, independant and to resist certain aspects of peer pressure.

Well... I had all the people that group together because they are weak. Shit, I had friends in school and whatnot... but none of them every thought it would be a good idea to shove human crap down my throat. All we did was get really fucked up... constantly and hung out. People talk a lot about the pot heads in schools and everything, im not saying I was a pothead but, we never got together and threw paint on each other.. and if we did it was in a fun way. We were trying to initiate each other in some weird way.

The whole "hazing" thing is tied in with extracurricular activites.. thats right, all the kids that are in the clubs and sports and shit. They are the ones hazing each other and other retards things instead of just drinking and partying. Ok ok, so even when you party there is the pressure to, uhm, perform better than other. But I would rather take a double shot of 151 before I swallowed some poop.

It's the easy/cruel way out Tosh. It's just another play on power corrupting. If they want to bring them together, try the Breakfast Club method. Stick them somewhere extremely boring and they'll eventually talk to each other and become a little more bonded.
