Once yer talking text only, you're talking MORGs, heheh. Sojourn is the MUD that EQ was loosely based on, where Aradune et al played back in the day. It maxes at about 150 players in the evening. It's a Forgotten Realms theme MUD, and the best I've played.

Telnet: 24.30.213.150 port 9999
Website: http://68.100.62.165:8080/

Use the forums - lots more players browse them than actually play anymore.

We could start one!

Winnow enters the room
Current room occupants: Howie1, Winnow
/description
There is a large chandelier in the middle of the room with a pair of elephant balls hanging from it.
/special attack Howie1
*Winnow jumps into the air and performs a Pele bicycle kick striking one of the elephant balls, launching it at Howie1 and hits him directly in the forehead*
Howie1 has died

I love text only online games! You can be so creative! Visualization is so much better than actually seeing it take place.

Yuppers, a few of the old Outriders of Karana are back on that mud. The best things about this mud are that it is free, there aren't a bazillion people on at the same time, there are a shit load of zones, and the Gods (admins and such) are all really cool (no wait for your customer service so to speak).

IF anyone remembers Legend of the Red Dragon back in the BBS days, you will like Legend of the Green Dragon.

A web-based spin-off. Still in BETA. Fun as hell.

This is the first one that I found: http://kortalh.com/lotgd/

And I started one on my web site: http://www.aoaveeshan.com/logd

Heh, I used to play Sojourn back in the day. Played it for a few years actually. Believe it or not, I was Rianna on Sojourn as well, though I was a Cleric. It was a good laugh. I believe I was part of the Zentarium (can't remember how it was spelled). Heh, those were fun times!

haha, that legend of the green dragon thing owns.

We are working on setting up a BBS accessible via telnet... if we get it up and working I plan on running LORD as a door game. But we might have to set up LOGD too for people who don't understand telnet. (It's easy, though.)

ys, we were looking at LOtGD a little while ago when we had set up BNT - then with the bandwidth increases and subsequent move to new place, we've been trying to get a bunch of the stuff we wanted up, up. Should probably make a new status of VV post soon.

expect lotgd soon

I used to run a BBS back in the early-mid 90's from my house while I was in college. It was fun. I had several games in it, including LoRD.

Doubt anyone here knows it, but the name of the BBS was "The Dragon's Nest" located in Bloomington, MN.

I'd be happy to help out, test, etc. your telnetable BBS when you have something set up.

I played this MUD for 3 years before EQ, it was fun
it's not free though, you got 5 free logins, then they charge per month per character ($4-5)
