House of a 1000 Corpses
I just got back from seeing this movie. It reminded me very much of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. If you like that kind of movie you are in for a treat with this one. I haven't felt this queasy and in shock in a long long time. Can't really predict what is going to happen next and it doesn't follow or conform to your normal Horror movie. If I had to sum up this movie and its feel in one word, that word would be.......helpless.
Hmmm I wish I woulda seen the movie you saw... Yes it was like TCM in OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of ways, but I found the movie too predictable, I didn't like the video camera scenes and the only Queezy feeling I got was knowing I spent money on this film. I was honestly considering walking out but I stuck with it.... Personally I feel that I would have gotten more enjoyment if I would have tossed my 11 bucks into the toilet and flushed, that way I could have gone "Whooo Hooo Hooo, look at it twirl around!!!"
So all in all, I give it five stars.......out of eight hundred and fifty six.
Rob Zombie does AWESOME Music, but he needs to stay away from film making.

Yeah I guess there was some predictability to this film. I went into it though thinking it was going to be something more like a campy Jason flick so I was looking for the Hero and the Survivor and that kind of thing. I didn't realize that it was more like TCM until after it was over. Dude, you paid full price? Always do the matinee. Yer unemployed, take advantage of the daytime rates. Granted I still have to sneak around so the wife doesn't know I went to the movies instead of job hunting.

Hmm, i was expecting a LOT creepier from Rob Zombie. Pretty gimptastic for a horror movie, i didn't jump once and wasn't on the edge of my seat at any point in the entire movie. you must have a very weak stomach bubba, I wasn't queezy at all. And it definately reminded me A LOT of TCM. Hey, at least there was a bunch of gratuitous nudity.

Not so much a weak stomach as much as just pure shock and awe. I tend to get into the movies a bit too deeply at times. Try putting yourself in the position that they were in (after they made all the stupid mistakes). That is where the helplessness comes in. Definitly not a movie I am ever going to own though. The nudity was there but I like my women alive when I see them nekkid.
I have to wonder what this would have been like without the 5000 recuts he whines he had to make to get it released.
Should have waited for the DVD was my opinion

I waited for the DVD and watched it last night. Damn, what a trip! Watched this one right after watching Dee Schnider's Strangeland hehe. This movie reminds me a lot of Zombie's music and CD covers. Pretty true to him and his creativity/style.
I'd say its a great debut for him making a horror flick, although the only horror I felt is what must be inside the head of someone who could think up such a movie. Some of it was pretty funny too, like the beautiful blond who you'd think would be a victim in most horror movies, but turns out to be one of the killers in this one.

This movie was one of the worst movies I have EVER seen. It was never scary, totally stupid, never funny when It tried to be, and was such a rip off of other movies, I knew exactly what going to happen throughout the whole thing. If Rob Zombie's intention was to make the most mundane and idiotic B movie ever, then he succeeded. But me, I like to enjoy movies, not despise them. What a waste of film.
Guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've watched this movie each of the past three nights, and I like it more everytime I see it. This is destined to be a cult classic, and as such most will hate it, but there will always be us die-hard lovers of this movie. Think I'll watch it again tonight
