Take on the war.

Post by Rasspotari »

yah i´m new so if you dont wanna read on, jackass away.

where to start, first of all those that think it´s ( the war in iraq) not about oil are naive, i wont bother with making my case here as it should be more then obvious.
i´m european, not a US-basher and as a matter of fact i like the place hopefully going back for a short visit in august. reason why there is a lot of US-bashers, personally i tend to agree with a term in an article which was linked here at the "a good read (us dominance)" thread, which was

"a thinly veiled envy"

the economy in the US is so much larger then the rest of the world it´s scary, it´s very easy to point out why it is so...
1) the country is very large
2) it has a very open unrestrained market/economy

a phrase that´s used a lot and i´m sure we´ve all heard "protect the american way of life" i dislike it but understand it of course, we all care about ourself more then we care about others, at least most of us. and i see this phrase highlighted blinking away like a danger alarm over all news articles i read and all news broadcasts i watch that are about the war in one way or another.
america is doing what Ford did back in the days, and what did he do, he produced cars, and then increased his workes salaries, why ? so they could afford the cars. because if you are far above others in the economic ladder you lose out, Robinson Cruso had nothing until Friday came. then he could trade with him and he became rich on a scale on it´s own. you need trade, since there is NO other factor that secures peace like trade.
and a poor country has a hard time trading with a rich country, uppen the lvl of the rest of the "players" (read as other countries) and the economy will become stronger and YOU WILL GAIN (read as the US) so understandable the US are spending an ungodly amount of money to build up other countries, and now all i see is Iraq beeing dismantled and then rebuilt into a country the US can do buisiness with and gain, of course Iraq gains more, and that´s all good and nice, and a reason for the average Iraq joe to celebrate the economic freedom crusade the US are on, on a personal level i wont see the Iraq population beeing any more "free" then before the war, they simply wont have a lunatic in control.

on a side note, why is the US-hate so apparent in the arab countries, personally i´d take into consideration that a large percentage there are very religious, worships Allah and by the book that makes all those that aren´t in the same boat, infidels.
but those same infidels are MUCH richer then they are, and if i were a fanatical realigious person be it christian or muslim, i´d be angry at my god for letting me down this way since i´m supposed to be living my life according to gods word and the other side isn´t.
these recent years as world state information has been more easily aquirable all over the world, the people in the arab nations are getting a taste of what they´ve been missing out on. and i´d like to explain the increase in US-hate and terrorism the last few decades this way,

you can´t want something that you don´t know exists.

israel was a window into how we live in the western hemisphere and they wouldn´t object to having just that.
and if i can quote the article that was linked in a former thread again
"“Scratch an anti-American in Europe, and very often all he wants is a guest professorship at Harvard or to have an article published in The New York Times,”

i´d say the same goes for people in the arab world.

jackass and flame me for my take on things, i´m ready for it :)
