I refuse to be convinced that booing the Suckronto Raptors was politically motivated.

WHA..??? Impossible!

The card carrying MENSA members that usually attend these sports events are a very respectful bunch!!!

Let's face it. Sports event are, more often than not, attended by people like that redneck texan that beat up that kid for not standing up for that country song.

Heh, I knew what this was about before I even clicked on it. I was going to have to tell you the same thing Kyou did, Cart. ;)

Either way, it's really low class and stupid to boo the anthem of another country like that.

Yep. It's not just limited to hockey. Seen it happen at baseball games before, too.

Burning the Canadian flag and booing the day after an American plane dropped 500 lb bomb on a Canadian squad (killing 4) that was performing a training excercise in Afghanistan.

When I brought that up in a thread here, you ignorant fucks were trying to say that it was the Canadian soldiers fault eventhough they were in a designated area and had informed the US command that a live fire excercise was going to be taking place at the specified time.

The pilots involved were charged with 4 counts of manslaughter, 8 counts of assault and dereliction of duty.

The stupid fuckers aren't even going to be court martialed despite the fact that there is sufficient evidence to support a martial.

Doesn't matter what country it is or why, being disrespectful of a country's flag and anthem is just poor taste.

Sadly, if all the regualrs on VV were at a game, I feel confident that I could name the ones who would be booing the loudest.

ummm as I do agree it was a tragic accident the key word here was accident not to even mention that the control tower crew (which was Canadian) was also at fault.

The US pilots were told TWICE not to drop a bomb. Yet they did it anyways.

If this situation were the other way around, do you honestly think that the US would sit back and say "oh well you killed some of our men, it was just an accident." I think not.

EDIT: spelling > me

Major Canadian on Canadian hate there . You must've mis-read me.

I meant to saw that as a canadian, I find it funny that an American was offended because of that happened on Montreal since this has been going down in (at least) NY state and Michigan for the last little while now.
