The Hunted

Post by Souldinkou Soulfury »

This movie is flawless. Tommy Lee Jones and Benecio Del Toro do a stunning job at acting and the fight sceens they compose are beautiful. Theres no dodging platoon gun fire bull shit, no stupid plot, and no fucking pussy actors. This beats any movie that has come out this year, go see it.

really? I was going to go see it but rotten tomatoes only has it at 28% so far and IMDB voters have only ranked it 5.5 as of now. I've been watching Friedken's movies get progressively worse since The Exorcist and Cruising with Pacino in the 70s

Well its about this assasin that cant get the genocide memories out of his head that he saw in Kosavo so he kills hunters in the woods that disrepsect animals by using too much equipment. The stalking in the woods is the best part. Then Tommy Lee Jones chases him for the rest of the movie. Its not a mission impossible, return a hostage, bull shit movie that hollywood has been producing for a while. While the movie is bloody and there is OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of killing, it isnt redundant.

I've wanted to see it, but so far I'm the only one. So I don't really know if I'll risk seeing it by myself.

I saw it tonight. It was decent. Wouldn't give it too much credit since it seemed like some things didn't make sense. But I miss a lot anywho.

Mine too! We should try it some time.

Seriously, we have ruined the earth enough, why go and ruin an untouched ecosystem? Population control my ass, we need to control our selves.

Is this another part of the Fugitive and U.S. Marshalls movies...? Looks very similar to them

Yes and No.

There is a fugative run but its not the same US Marshall role Jones plays.

I also saw this movie this weekend and enjoyed it very much. I went with a packed house, but then I live in Portland so I think a lot of people went just for that reason. People even brought their kids though which maybe not have been the best choice as it was pretty bloody. In flashbacks Tommy is showing a troop how to kill someone with a knife severing all major arteries (sp?) in the body, which of course forshadows some of the deaths.

There isn't much dialogue in the movie, this isn't about making huge speeches necessarily. Its an action film that does its job quite nicely. And no it isn't the Sam Gerrard who sets up roadblocks in a 15 mile perimeter and calls out all the orders will his sidekicks crack jokes at the locals. This is Tommy going into the woods alone and saying if he isn't back in two days hes dead. Eating leaves to spit into wounds and traveling with gravity. I really enjoyed the knife/hand to hand fights as they kept it fairly real. You could see the exhaustion in the faces of the two men, the primal and trained insticts of both men fighting for their lives. They were short of breath and dirty and grimmy, this wasn't the pretty wet the hair and put a smile on your face fight.

I also liked how they were was no love interest in this movie. They had a setup for it, but shot it down because no one who is on a chase is gunna stop for a booty call.

Worth my $8 and if another friend wants to see it, I'll pay again.
