Why do they do this? I've never heard of Microsoft removing DLC from their store, especially for a marqui title like GT5. I realise that GT6 is now out but to rob people of their GT5 investment is harsh.
The smart thing would've been to put GT5 on PS+, milk the DLC on the new people that normally wouldn't have played the series and market the new hotness to those people.

Probably license oriented in nature. Or they just want people to buy GT6, which isn't setting any sales charts on fire.
Totally shitty thing to do.

It's all good. You can spend more money and get it again on Playstation NOW in a few months! Sony doesn't care about money like Microsoft. They care about gamerz.
While Sony's decision to make this move is financial, it's a good idea to use a streaming service for all of those old games in the future. The DLC and old game sales revenue probably aren't significant but an all in one monthly subscription fee adds plenty to the bottom line for the company. I've got several hundred 360 games and have no desire to back to any of them or PS3 games much less PS2 or Xbox games. If Playstation Now offered a monthly free service with maybe a couple old PS4 streaming games a month while including all the PS3/PS3 games, I might go back and load one up to remind me why I never play old games. It would be a very bad move if they charge per game on the service for old games.
I'm curious to see how Sony mixes Playstation + freebie games with Playstation Now.
I really hope, for several reasons, that Sony's PS4 VR headset we'll see in March doesn't suck. (like, please don't put a stupid cyclops glowing light on them)

Why do they do this? I've never heard of Sony adding region locks and deleting game licenses from people. I realize now that MS is just out to rob people. It seems like Microsoft has quietly made Xbox One digital games "Region-Lock", it was activated last month and the firm also deleted game licenses from gamertags. Now as a result of this new restriction, download keys bough abroad will no longer work, Xbox One players will receive error message along with this code: "0x87de07d1".
Many Xbox One are facing this error code as they try to redeem their digital game codes
But it's all good. People can spend more money to buy those titles again! Microsoft doesn't care about money like Sony. They care about gamerz.

I fully support region free games.
The only "good" reason is if there is some legal reason a game is banned in a certain region and the region locking protects Microsoft from liability.

Speaking of closing online services...
Nintendo killing Wi-Fi Connection service for DS and Wii May 20
Nintendo is shutting down the Wi-Fi Connection service for DS and Wii on May 20, Nintendo of Japan announced today.
While Nintendo DS/DSi and Wii users will no longer be able to online features such as online play, matchmaking and leaderboards from the announced date, according to a Nintendo of Australia press release, the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop will not be affected. Browsers for the DS and DSi will also be accessible beyond the date, as well as the Wii's Delivery Channel, Hulu, Internet Channel and YouTube.
The service's retirement will affect 20 Nintendo published Wii games and Wii Ware titles, including Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Pokémon Battle Revolution. More than 40 Nintendo published DS and DSi software titles will also be affected, such as Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Pokémon Platinum Version, Professor Layton and the Curious Village and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Yeah.. Saw that one too. The speed at which they killed the Wii's services is pretty brutal to be honest. 90% of the stuff on that dashboard no longer works anymore.
