Experiences with Alienware PCs?

Post by noel »

I'm considering buying an Alienware Area 51M. It has gotten excellent reviews, but I'm just curious if anyone here has any direct experience with the company or its products.

If it were a desktop system, I would just build it myself, but for a laptop, they appear to be the best bet.

You should try asking at forums.anandtech.com

You'll find more techies there that really know what they are talking about.

Have owned 2. Flawless performers both of them. Love the order process. The last one did ship with a restore disk instead of an OS disk which i do not like at all but that is the rule these days. Alienware pays a lot of attention to detail their machines reflect this in every respect.

Never heard of comp shows? They got the good shit there, plus a nice assortment of towers...
I saw a case that looked like it was bulletproof glass with a marijuana leaf painted on it.
That had to be Brittney's PC :D

alienware has the best quality and customer service for pre-built PC's in the industry as far as I'm concerned.

they do cost a lot, but you get what you pay for.

Yeah but once you buy an alienware PC you never have to touch it until it's time to get another one.

Every piece of hardware, every bit of software right down to your registry is tweaked out to get the maximum amount of performance out of it.

An awesome piece of machinery. My friend has had one for awhile, and everytime he gets a virus or fucks it up somehow (soda in the CD rom anyone?) they give him a free replacement part. That's just one of the cool parts, the really cool thing is the system, incredibly fast and error-free from what I've seen. Needless to say, I was impressed~

We have had our Alienware for about 9 or so months, and we love it. Spent about $2400 on it and never looked back. The performance is great, have had no problems whatsoever. I would HIGHLY recommend it!

**Edit**

Just to give you our specs:

AMD Athalon 1900+, 1.60GHz
Windows XP
Color - Saucer Silver
Memory: 512 MB
HD: 80GB
DVD ROM: Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616F
DX 8.1
NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4600 128MB
Creative SB Audigy
US Robotics 56K Fax PCI
Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter

They gave us a full report on all the system checks that they did when building it... Purchased our own sound system which matched the computer perfectly. Great deal!
