Played the demo of this a few weeks ago and my immediate reaction was negative.
Atlus had been putting out all this interesting media about the title and I had assumed a JRPG in the same vein as Persona however this is essentially a box climbing game with a dating sim story around it. This seems to be something you would find on iOS but with a much bigger CGI/music budget.
It's up to 83 Metacritic however after 11 reviews. I think I may revisit the demo to get a second opinion. I was so put off by the gameplay that I may have given it a pass too quickly. Reflecting back, I did enjoy what was presented there story-wise and if the gameplay is as challenging as they describe, this may be right up my alley.
The pricetag is my other really limiting factor. At 29 or 39$ I would've jumped. At 59$ CDN, this requires a bit more reflection.

I'm most likely going to pick it up. From what I've read, it gets obnoxiously hard before long. There are also a few co op modes, so that would be fun to try.

I'm pretty sure this wont be $60 for long. Just a feeling I have!

I wouldn't hold your breath for an early price drop on any Atlus game.

Re: Catherine
I got close to buying it today. I need to read up on how long the game is. A quick search on my phone said something along the lines of 8-14 hours of gameplay with multiple playthroughs having different outcomes.
I'm playing the demo again.

Re: Catherine
So far it's ok. It's a puzzle game with a whacky story thrown in. You basically watch scenes with very little, if any interaction between the block hopping puzzles. I'm a fan of all things perv from Japan but even with that in mind, this game doesn't seem worth full price. When the price cuts roll around it might be worth a look if you like puzzles.
