At 12:02 a.m. EST on Febuary 13th, Bellsouth updated its billing database.
The new database's purpose was to process billing requests for cu's faster as well as make a more stable database all together. Unfortunately...when the FastAccess cu's (i.e. customers with bellsouth ADSL) were put into the database a conflict occured and it sent out over 350,000 End of Service Notifications...
If you have Bellsouth ADSL I'd make sure you have dial tone when you get a chance on your lunch break, cause if not...well....hi. Of course, will Bellsouth admit this? Negatory, they will blame the ADSL tech support...
Anyway no cause for alarm, if you were unlucky enough to have this happen to you, it should be fixed by 7pm EST. IF not well...expect 3-5 business days for your phone/adsl service to be restored!
Have a wonderful day.
I know I'm not....
I hate my job sometimes.
edit: also if you were unfortunate and had this happen PM me with your ADSL telephone #, i dont need name/address or anything and I can manually send it to customer service and have it fixed a bit faster than the normal method - I did mine at 10:02 am this morning =)
