This is a horror anthology heavily themed around black cutlure. Particularlly, gangsta culture from 1995.
Three straight up ballers bust all up in a funeral home and hold the creepy director at gun point because they believe he is using the funeral home as a cover to smuggle drugs and they want a piece of the action. The eccentric (to say the least) funeral home director tells the whacked out thug gangstas 4 creepy tales from the 'hood.
First Story: It's about racist cops and a brotha cop that turned his back on another brotha, brotha. 6.5/10
Second Story: A child tells his teacher that a monster attacks him in his room at night. The teacher goes to the house to talk with baby momma and has a violent run in with baby daddy. 7/10
Third Story: Some cracka Republican Senator who is a former KKK member takes up residence in an old slave plantation. This story has some flesh eating dolls in it, so I think it's extra cool. 8/10
Fourth Story: A hardcore mutha fuckin' gansta volunteers to go through a new form of therapy to change his mutha fuckin gangsta wayz n shit. It's a stright up gangsta version of A Clockwork Orange, beotch. 6.5/10
The overall funeral story bookends get a 9/10. It's over the top and great!
I'd go 7.5/10 for the whole experience.
I have a soft spot for anthology horror movies. Tales From The Crypt, Twilight Zone, Tales From The Darkside... I got em all and I love em. After watching this on Netflix, I went to buy it on Amazon and I found out this fucker has never been released on DVD!?! The white man is holding this movie back-yo! I want my Tales From The Hood!
It's weird looking back to see the way black culture, or at least what Hollywood thought was black culture, impacted the stories in this movie. You have dirty cops, racist white senetors, child abuse, drugs, prison, and a peek of how the gangsta circle of violence is killig black youth for no good reason. Surprisingly relevent themes really!

This is one of my favorite movies. I think the last story is the best though, and the Spice 1 song they play throughout that story is probably the most violent song ever made, and it's also awesome.

I remember enjoying this one. And let us not forget that Rusty Cundieff directed the most-excellent Fear of a Black Hat! Clarence Williams III was also his usual kickass self. Creepy dude!!
