Lose some weight America

Post by Aabidano »

I can't find a stinking 30 or 32 inch mens belt I like, not to mention shorts or pants. Seems like the sizes run from 38-48, anything under that leaves slim pickings. Unless you want to shop in the emo section anyway. I'll pass

Maybe more people are 30-32 so they're always sold out!

I see 30-32 all the time. Finding 33 in shorts is a pain in the ass! Hell, I am lucky to find Dockers or Jeans in 33 these days. Damn odd numbers!

I buy pants in 33-34.
If it's stuff that's on sale, those sizes always seem to be gone.
Larger sizes are always plentiful when stuff is on sale.

can't find a stinking 30 or 32 inch mens belt
That's because very few adult men have a waist size less than 30 inches.
You are aware that you should buy your belts 2-3 inches bigger than your waist.... right?

Fat people probably opt for linking bungee cords together, adding and removing linked parts depending on the size of their meals that day. Why wear a nice belt when your roll over gut is going to hide it anyway?

I wear size 36 in my shorts and jeans because I like some room. My dress pants are 34's. I think size 34 is very common, therefore it's sold out. That's your problem. (not that Americans couldn't stand to lose some weight)

Belts are sized to the mid-point of the holes, 2-3 inches longer looks sloppy :)

There's roughly 6k carnies that winter in the next town over, you have no idea. The super wal mart over there is a freak show, sometimes literally in the winter months.

They're skinny freaks though! Who don't have a need for dress clothes.

Edit - I generally buy 32s, they're usually baggy but it's the smallest most places carry in the mens dept. Dockers pants I can find all over the place, working from home those last me years and aren't a concern.

Portland would not phase you then. We don't even need the circus in town to see some interesting people. Also, we have a very large hipster population replete with the skinny pants. I think someone cloned that skinny fucker from the Black Crows.

We may also have the market cornered on men-in-capri-pants. Gay or not, that's just tacky!

I suppose shopping online may be the best bet. I already know that 32 is too small and 34 too big, and 33 just plain rare. Maybe I'll just gain some weight and upgrade that shit.

Orrrrr, perhaps go to elastic waistband magiccrazypants like the meatballs wear at the gym!

I rather like my roll over gut. I'd hate to have a "front butt".

If he still lives in the Tampa Bay area, I guarantee you other skinny people buying up all the belts is not his issue.

I'm still in the land of ham hocks & hog jowls. The only skinny people we have are either "net frum 'roun her" or meth heads.

I am pretty much surrounded by people that just wear their pants around their knees where I live in Austin. I think they must be buying up all of your sizes. It is funny watching them run with at least one hand holding their pants up.

I'll never understand the pants around the knees/thighs thing. That has been around for what like 20 years now (Mack Daddy make you, jump, jump?)?

Ugh, must just be me getting old(er).

The farther your pants are down the more street cred you have.

Hah, I saw a pear of these today at the court house. Now you can sag and have pants at your waist too. I give you Bagg'ns (thought this was an alusion to the Hobbit at first)

Heard on the radio (NPR!) over the weekend about vanity pants sizing - manufacturers marking pants smaller than they really are. Sometimes up to 4 inches.

*Edit - The 32s I'm wearing are close to a 35" waist. Jerks.

On the plus side, the Wilson's leather store was low on large+ leather jackets, lots of mediums in stock however.

I was the only adult male customer in there under 220.

Something wrong with new riding jackets, need a couple years of rain & bugs to look right.
