XP > 7 upgrades

Post by Aabidano »

I've read there's no way to go directly from XP to 7, is there any way around that?

That is correct. There is no way to go directly from XP to Windows 7. Trust me, just install Windows 7 and create images as you install stuff. Some older applications cause havoc in Windows 7. Especially applications that integrate with the shell, some of them aren't using the API's correctly and will just fuck shit up. But overall, everything works well (some work even faster), with the exception of this annoying thing that causes Windows 7 to vomit and ultimately restart the video driver, but it's not really video related as non-video related operations cause the chain of events that ultimately causes Windows 7 to restart the video driver.

Anyways, good luck!

The video driver restarting thing is seriously annoying.
