Da trolls get EVICTED!!!
In a bold andsurprising move by SoE, They ran an event tonight that basically had the new Froglok army pour out of Guk and invade Grobb. Trolls have been evicted and the town is now called Gukta.
Newbie trolls will now appear in Neriak in the Foreign Quarters.

I heard about this, and I think it's incredibly fucking stupid. It wouldn't be altogether very hard for SoE just to design a new city zone, connected to Innothule, where the Frogloks could start off. Instead, they took the lazy route and just reused Grobb as Gukta. Way to go.
Beside the point: Why the hell would a city full of large, burly trolls get overrun by a bunch of frogs? I thought the French always lost their wars.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

LOL, and I was just there earlier today to see what they patched. Ran around for a while, saw nothing, and left. Wish I would have know that that would be the last time I'd ever see my home city
.
Before the patch, I was ally to frogs. After patch, I was warmly. I wonder what I con to them now.

HAHAHA Fuck ya! Alls I got to say is its about fuckin time! Frogloks >>> Trolls. It was a work of art watching the Mith Marr Blessed Frogloks completely obliterate the Trolls and seeing the Trolls running like lil bitches from their homes. I can’t wait till I can make my own Froglok, this was truly a great day in EQ history.

I'd rather have an extra zone with "stuff" in it than another worthless city zone myself. Neriak is a much more useful zone than Grobb if you need to use old world cities IMO.
Anyone given thoughts to an all froglok guild name? You know it's coming

If I recall the EQ Lore correctly Guk was the original city of the Trolls until the Frogloks drove them out. Following this a Troll Shaman cast a curse on them which killed off a lot of people and one of their heroes which we now know as The Ghoul Lord (was known as Hoptor Thaggelum I believe). The Trolls then built Grobb.
It does make sense that this happened if they want to follow the history lines etc.

They took an aspect of the backstory and applied it in a very believable way. They also took two of the least used zones (who the fuck every goes to innothule or grobb?) in game and gave people a reason to go there. The cheapest and easiest way to create new content is to revamp old, unused content.
*shrug*
It makes sense to me, I wouldn't mind seeing more old, unused content revamped.
And like Voro, I'm gonna make a point of training every single fucking froglok player I see.

Like those fucking retards who think that talking like jar jar binks is roleplaying an ogre?Zygar_ Cthulhukin wrote:Well it's nice to see that SOE has brought back at least a little of the roleplaying back into the game. Most of it died out about 3 years ago when people got tired of hearing "ogre-speak".
Or think that saying 'mes tink dat Creed sux' is roleplaying.

Gratz, stupidest question of the day.Pilsburry wrote:I like how the only mobs for exp in the area close to grobb were froglock tads, froglocks, and guk...
Did they change all that? Or do newbie froglocks have to run several zones away for exp?

The Froglok Tads are 1 type of mob in the zone... I'm sure they will be easily replaced with bats or someshit.

Nice one Jice!
I wonder if there are any Dark Elves out there who are pissed about stinky trolls living in Neriak.
