NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SI.com) -- Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been shot to death in an apparent double homicide, according to several Nashville news reports.
McNair, 36, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville, according to the reports. A female victim also was reported slain.
McNair played in the NFL from 1995 to 2007, most of that with the Titans, who drafted him third overall out of Alcorn State while they were still the Houston Oilers. He passed for 174 touchdowns and 31,304 yards and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A relative of the woman found shot to death with former NFL quarterback Steve McNair said Monday that Nashville police told him she recently purchased a gun and that police believe they are almost sure she was the shooter.
