In-Ear Headphones

I recently lost my headphones so was shopping around on amazon to find a better replacement. I am going to go with in-ear ones since over-ear headphones are too bulky for my needs and those "earbud" apple-style ones simply blow.

I am currently looking at:

Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black)
and
Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones

I'd like to keep the price under $50 although the Shure ones are a bit more. Ideas?

I love my Shure e5c's - pricey, but amazing. Make sure you get triple flange inserts - the singles always seem to let too much noise in.

Wow, those are both pretty fucking sweet! However, I think I will hold off on the $$$ 'phones even though their sound is obviously better in every way.

I ended up ordering something cheap, but well-reviewed:

Yes, yes I know. However, Sennheiser has an excellent reputation, at least in large over-ear sets. For running or working, I am afraid to get something that will get murderfaced.

That said, if these suck, I may just have to fork over some cash anyway for something useable! Thanks guys!!

PS: I know Bose is usually top-quality shit too, Fash. My brother is an authorized dealer, but it is kinda hard to demo something that gets jammed in your ear. Kinda fucks up the resale value.

I thought Bose was supposed to be all badass--then again, if I knew what I was talking about, I would not have needed to ask here!

Anyway, the Sennheiser CX400's came in and I am pleased! Sound great for lower-end, but do a nice job of blocking out asshats and re-re's, yet having good sound.

Sure they are not anywhere near the studio-quality ones, but they are way better than what I had before, and comfortable to boot.

Bose is perfectly fine. The biggest complaint against them is price vs performance. They have good marketing that has many people convinced they are the greatest thing ever and they charge accordingly. However, once you start getting in that sort of price range, there are almost always better alternatives, some at lower prices.

Basically, Bose is guilty of getting a premium price out of only barely above average/decent hardware. It bothers many people to see people shell out big bucks for the name alone, which is what many people do.

For example, I listened to some sound occlusive Bose headphones and was blown away. However, 400$ was too steep for me to spend on a pair of headphones. I opted for a pair of Logitec sound occlusive headphones that were ranked just shy of the Bose and I paid 50$ for them. With a side by side comparison, the Bose are better. They just aren't 350$ better. More like, 25$ better.

The standard Bose system in my Envoy is fantastic. I wouldn't consider trying to replace it, and an upgrade is just too expensive for the minimal return. Besides, I listen to talk radio when I drive since I'm getting old

I ordered this same model after reading this thread, and I really like them. They were nice and inexpensive, and even while mowing the lawn yesterday they did a good job of really dampening the sound of the mower, even when my music wasn't playing.

Yeah, I like em. Especially for $30!

My only complaint is the short wire. Yeah, it comes with an extension, but that makes it too long! Only a small issue really--I just need to ziptie the extension.

I bought this armband along with the headphones, and the short wire is just long enough that it didn't impede me at all while wearing that and mowing the lawn.
