1600 x 1200 at home, and on desktop at work.

1024 x 768 on laptop that use most often and post with at work.

I think most of us gamer geeks have 21+" Montiors and even 1024x768 is too big for that. I'll plug the Dell FD Trinitron 21" montiors cause even though I build my own PC's they are the best I've seen and have had this one for 2 years now. Run that bad boy at 1280x1024 and will go up when I get my pre-ordered GeForce FX! Can't wait

Edit: forgot to add that I'm still using 3dfx's Voodoo5 5500 that's why I don't trust the stability of any resolutions over 1280x1024. And it sucks for 3DS Studio believe me.

I'm a recent convert to the 1280x1024 resolution. Was using 1024x768 before that, but now that seems weird to me. I can't remember the last time I ran in 800x600 or less.

Since 17" monitors became low-end, the minimum reso has been 1024X768. Can't remember the last time I saw a 15" monitor.

With 19/20" the average is 12x10 and 21" is 12X10 to 16X12

On real monitors I usually use 1600x1200. One of my computers at home has an small Dell LCD screen that supports no higher than 1024x768, and that drives me crazy. Mostly only use it for irc when I'm in game though, so not too big a deal.

1280x1024...really I'd like to run in 1600x1200 but my monitor does not support that. :( Most 17" monitors won't support anything higher... Time to go for 19" or 21: I guess!

I'd go 1600x1200 but the refresh rate is what's important to me...if I have to drop below 85hz, I won't go higher. The flicker factor sucks and is a lot of strain on the eyes.

If you are currently operatiing your monitor under 85hz, you should increase the refresh rate. As a test, focus your eyes right above the top of your monitor. If you notice flicker/strobing of your monitor, with a light or white background being displayed while looking just above the monitor, then you're probably currently under 85hz. This is for CRT (tube) monitors...LCD people move along, there's nothing to see here.

To change it, Right Click anywhere on your desktop, select display properties, select the settings tab, click the Advanced button, select the monitor tab, under Monitor Settings, click the drop down menu and select 85Hz or higher depending on what your Monitor and Video card can handle.

This has been my kind message for the day. (unless your computer crashes when you try this : )

1280 x 1040 on a 17"..
When I played EQ, I was playing in 800 x 600 til I was enlightened that 1280 x 1040 was so much better.

My dad runs his 17" monitor at 640x480.
I snuck in and changed it to 800x600 but he claimed the text was too small, and made me change it back.

17" at 1600x1200.

It's all about the cheap japanese manufactured moniters that put out godly resolution. And I still get 75Htz refresh and a damn clear picture. (Box said .28, but it seems clearer than that.)
