Spoilers and the general news media

Post by Dregor Thule »

I am sick of having a spoiler for a show thrust upon me by news headlines on websites. Todays was
[Show]
Actor Kal Penn's surprise suicide on 'House' opens way to job with Obama White House
. I watch House, but I don't watch it as broadcast. This would have been a very powerful thing for me to see without spoiler, but since I have my homepage set to iGoogle, with various news sources on it, BAM, spoiled. With the rising number of people who DVR shows to watch later, news companies should really be taking extra steps to not be so callous with their spoilers.

Sorry. Had to vent.

I don't watch House, but I plan to catch up at some point. I too was pretty tee-d off about the spoiler. They didn't have to reveal how the character left the show.
