Coldplay
I had never heard them before when i got the CD 'Parachutes' from my brother. They are really awesome. I was totally hooked and played that cd over and over. Totally chill music, great to listen to if yer stoned =p. Just goth their new CD, "A Rush of Blood to the Head". Another great CD, these guys are a very promising band. Highly recommend them.
A little late, but:
Attended the HFS Miss Nutcracker christmas show here in DC. Coldplay was the "main" act so to speak. They played their 6 best songs and that is it.
They are, by far, one of the best musical performances you can see. They sound very clean and natural live, which some bands can't seem to pull off.
My suggestion is, if you like their music, then do what it takes to see them live, you will like their work even more, I guarantee. Oh, and if you watched the Grammy's lastnight, then you saw a live performance by them. They put that much energy into every song.

I saw Coldplay in Montreal last night, and it was a great concert. I wouldn't put them in my list of the best concerts I've ever seen (Sigur Ros, Radiohead, U2), but they were good. They played three new songs that they've been working on, two of which were good and one which was spectacular (I think he said it was called 'Ladder to the Sun').
My biggest issue with this concert was the fact that it was like listening to a much louder version of the album. Chris Martin was obviously enjoying himself, dancing around at his piano like a monkey on speed, but I don't feel that he did much to spread his enthusiasm to the crowd, apart from trying to speak French. I enjoyed hearing all of their songs in a live format, and I especially liked having the opportunity to hear new songs, but I wish that they'd improvised more, particularly on the very popular songs like Yellow that everyone knows and has heard a million times. They did play the songs flawlessly, and changed up the intros of a few, which I liked. Perhaps when they have a bit more experience on the road, they'll be able to deliver more creatively varied shows.
A couple funny moments from the show: During Trouble, Chris Martin sang (in French), "I'd like to sing in French, but this song is sad enough." And before one of the slower songs, he said (also in French), "Now we're going to slow it down, like a rabbit... wait, my French is very bad... well, like an animal that's slow."
I'd also like to extend a hearty fuck you to the people that go to see a band live when they only know one song, the most popular single, and are only happy when that song gets played.
