Re: Scrubs on ABC?
The show was always produced by ABC's production division (Touchstone Television). NBC just payed a ton of money initially to have the rights to air it. Their contract was for the first 7 seasons. NBC starting making a fuss at some point during the seventh season (which was the season broken by the writer's strike) and began airing some episodes out of order. ABC had planned to air the show from then on after the seventh season (and the second half of the second season if NBC flaked out).
The eigth season will be on ABC with the same cast. After that, the show will continue, but with a new cast. The doctors will move on, and a new set of interns will be introduced and will become the focus of the show, like the original cast.
Similarly, House M.D. is produced by NBC Universal Group, but the NBC network passed up airing rights, and it was picked up by FOX.

It's not common, but there have been a few other shows that have switched networks in the past. Two that I can think of off the top of my head are Taxi (ABC to NBC) and Diff'rent Strokes (NBC to ABC). I know there are several others, but I can't think of any at the moment.

Re: Scrubs on ABC?
So will they be replacing all the cast, or moving them up in their roles and introducing new people to Sacred Heart? I dont think this show would be nearly as much of a success if it wasn't for Braff's influence and his directorial knowledge. The show will lose a lot if he is no longer there. Although since he makes about 350k per episode, i can see why this change may be in effect. The eigth season will be on ABC with the same cast. After that, the show will continue, but with a new cast. just my opinion, but I don't think the show would be worth a crap without the Dorian, Cox, Kelso trio.

Re: Scrubs on ABC?
Killmol and I agree once again!
I can't imagine it being worth watching without the current cast of main characters. Braff and a few of the others have been adamant that this is the last season they're doing. Unless there's a major change, it seems like the show would have a mostly new cast if it continues beyond this season. I'm sure some of the supporting characters (e.g. The Janitor, Ted, The Todd, Doug, etc.) would still be around for the post-shark-jump Scrubs, though.

Bill Lawrence (the show's creator) is leaving as well at the end of this season. So yeah, it probably won't be worth watching since it will be the same in name only.Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:just my opinion, but I don't think the show would be worth a crap without the Dorian, Cox, Kelso trio.
