Anyone take up this profession? I have my skill up to 421 right now and plan on just coasting up to 450 by doing the daily research.

I have not really seen any wrath inscription stuff. What can you do at 450 that you could not do at 375?

Make a few more glyphs, like Glyph of Vigor requires 375 to make (the tradeskill cap was 350 before the expansion).

For just about every tradeskill, it seems that raising them past 430 is almost worthless. My jewelcrafting is almost capped, but only because I have been buying earthsiege diamonds for around 100g, cutting them to relentless earthsiege diamonds, then reselling them for 300g. I've made well over 3k doing this, and got skill ups as a bonus.

The only thing that you can do post 420 JC that you cant do pre-420 JC is cut the epic recipies that you get for 6 dalaran tokens.

My JC is still at like 430ish because I don't give two fucks about rings and necklaces that aren't even better than badge or naxx equivalents :p.

So i'm just working on getting all the blue / meta patterns and cutting shit for people as they need it. Not hardcore trying to get to 450, because like you said, it doesn't even matter.

Pretty much same with Alchemy as far as I can tell. You can make flasks at like 435, and after that, it's pointless.

(side note) I LOVE FUCKING MIXOLOGY

By doing the research for the Northrend Glyphs I am able to raise my Inscription bit by bit. I'm at 430 out of 450 right now and all the glyphs I can skill up on are yellow. I'm in no hurry to do that though. I have found that I need to do an assload of farming to get my herbs so that I can get the rare pigment so that I can do the research.

I took a shot at created a Dark Moon Card of the North the other night. The mats for it are kind of steep but on my first try I pulled an Ace of Nobles. I haven't had the mats to try again but when I do I'll give it another go.

I don't use the Off Hand items on any of my characters so I hadn't thought about creating any of those. Are they worth the effort? Do these things sell? Speaking of selling, anyone know what Glyphs are particuarly good sellers? I haven't done much AH with my stuff and usually just supply my guild as needed.

So with the Darkmoon Cards I have been making I have made close to 7k gold in about 2 weeks of casual play and harvesting. The best place to farm herbs so far has been the Sholazar Basin. I have a slight advantage in that I can pick plants in epic bird form whereas others have to dismount and remount to get to the next batch. I'm only about 2 bubbles from 80 and soon as I get that I am going to do some hard core farming of herbs. Also, Frost Lotus sells great. I sell in stacks of 5 for about 40g.

Well I'm glad I got my money when I did. It seems now that everyone who has inscription is realizing how great the Darkmoon Cards are and are making them like crazy. That dropped the value on the cards quite a bit. Now I'll just make cards for my personal use.

Save your Ink of the Sea as you will be able to trade it in for Snowfall Ink as of patch 3.08 at a 10-1 ratio. Snowfall Ink is the rare that is used to create the Darkmoon Cards.
Here is some more info on the cards.

I continued making cards in hopes of completing a Nobles Deck for the Greatness Trinket. I'm only a few cards away now and I am selling off my duplicates. The article listed above how much it costs but he said that he is neither an Herbalist nor Inscriptionist so it would be expensive for him to do this. For me I can make enough Ink after about 45 minutes of Herb Farming in Storm Peaks.
