Yeah, I know. That number would be much worse if it included 2008 data. The Iraq war is over $600billion estimated atm (although that isn't just the '08 cost).
To try and help answer his question however, Social Security is upside down (currently paying out, more than is coming in) as well as Medicare/aid. Various infrastructure additions/improvements/maintenance (although there really haven't been many of note in a while). All of the payrolls of the various federal government agencies (and branches of military), as well as their operating expenses. Also any foreign aid we may be providing to various countries around the world.

That's a general answer. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but they're public info.
