http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/20 ... e-victory/The time between the final answer in any presidential debate and the campaign press release declaring victory can usually best be measured in milliseconds. But John McCain’s campaign – which has been downplaying his performance at Friday’s faceoff, offering praise for opponent Barack Obama’s “eloquence” and debating skill – seems to have decided it’s never too soon to start spinning the outcome.
The Washington Post reported Friday that the campaign was running an online ad featuring the headline: "McCain Wins Debate!" and a photo of a smiling McCain and an American flag background. Another featured a quote from McCain campaign manager Rick Davis: "McCain won the debate — hands down."
The Obama campaign quickly circulated the report – which came moments before McCain’s team confirmed he would take part in the evening debate after all.

Wait, you're surprised they have canned responses/propaganda before the stuff is actually done? You know Obama's campaign management very likely has done the exact same stuff, right?Forthe wrote:http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/20 ... e-victory/The time between the final answer in any presidential debate and the campaign press release declaring victory can usually best be measured in milliseconds. Good for him! I always knew he wasn't a quitter. Now I know he's a pre-emptive winner!
Funk, of course they do. They usually just wait to release it until, you know, the event has actually occurred.
I know the Huffington Post will be streaming the debates live tonight. For those that don't have access on television, are there any other places that will be showing them? I am eager to watch, but don't want to get bogged down by a slow website.

For the oppressed, peace is the absence of oppression, but for the oppressor, peace is the absence of resistance.

This is a great victory for McCain and his comrades.
I think I will DVR this as I am going out to dinner tonight.
Why DVR it when the outcome has been foretold, you ask?
Simple answer! I can rewind to watch John stumble over himself over and over and over....

That's funny, I was waiting for someone on VV to post about how much Obama kicked his ass before the debates as well.
Watching Keith Ohlberman (spelling) jerk Obama off nightly is getting a little tiresome too. I swear that guy would blow Obama all day if he could get close enough.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
