Re: Jack Thompson finally disbarred
i love how he tried to file a motion to contest his disbarment even though he has been disbarred.

doesn't take effect for 30 days, but yeah it's still silly. I am glad this guy is gone. It's pretty sad how he tries to turn his personal mission into a religious crusade.

Re: Jack Thompson finally disbarred
even so, he can't contest the motion personally. he must be represented by another lawyer.. not that i know what i'm talking about. its just what i read

Re: Jack Thompson finally disbarred
you're correct there. they made it a stipulation that only a member of the bar in good standing could file his appeal.cadalano wrote:even so, he can't contest the motion personally. he must be represented by another lawyer.. not that i know what i'm talking about. its just what i read

You know its bad when the court decided that the suggested 10 year disbarment is NOT enough, and make it permanent.
Im no law expert, but im fairly sure that this is not a common occurence...especially not on a publically well known laywer as Jack who should know how the game worked.

I somehow doubt this is the last you've heard of Jack. He can setup some soft of christians against violent games coalition or something of that nature and get other lawyers to do the prosecuting.
I'm also pretty sure that he'll still be on Fox News' speed dial.

I'm going to miss him. He unintentionally brought more sympathy to the video game industry than anyone could have dreamed.

Dont worry, he already filed emergency motions to get his disbarment pushed, and filed suits against god knows how many people involved in his disbarment, either real, or in his imagination.Niffoni wrote:I'm going to miss him. I just wonder if he will try to get the president involved again, like he did when he wanted him on the stand for some unknown reason

None of them were signed by another Lawyer in good standing with the bar, so they are invalid!Hesten wrote:Dont worry, he already filed emergency motions to get his disbarment pushed, and filed suits against god knows how many people involved in his disbarment, either real, or in his imagination.Niffoni wrote:I'm going to miss him. Re: Jack Thompson finally disbarred
Well, should that stop Jack? We ARE talking about a lawyer that managed to file gay porn pictures in a lawsuit, which mean they HAVE to be available for the public, and the guy who filed documents made as some hellish cross of a joke and a picture book.Aardor wrote:None of them were signed by another Lawyer in good standing with the bar, so they are invalid!Hesten wrote:Dont worry, he already filed emergency motions to get his disbarment pushed, and filed suits against god knows how many people involved in his disbarment, either real, or in his imagination.Niffoni wrote:I'm going to miss him.
