colonization

Post by cadalano »

just came out yesterday. i grabbed it off steam

very addicting so far. its like Civ4 but focuses a lot more on civic micromanagement. stays pretty true to the original but theres a lot of nice improvements.. if you never played the original it doesn't take a lot to get started.

Founding fathers are somewhat like wonders of the world- depending on how you play you'll gain trade, political, or military points. Those points can be cashed in to "buy" founding fathers who will join you and provide your entire nation a permanent boost. Once a founding father joins a nation he cant join others. Its a bit different from wonders because the founding fathers get better and better if you wait longer and they start to get more "expensive", but if you wait too long all of them will be snapped up by the other nations.

There's a lot more that you can do with the natives now, like you can send your laborers to live with them for around 5 turns and the natives will teach them a skilled gathering profession (fishing or farming). Not sure if that was in the original or not

and so on. long story short i recommend it!

if you enjoyed Civ4 this will surely be worth your money
