Re: DNC vs. RNC
I wasn't there, but I can imagine the local police were a bit put off by the fucking assholes breaking windows, overturning everything in sight and generally being destructive idiots.
I love how the police at any Republican convention (or G8 or whatever) are always described as "jackbooted thugs"... as if the RNC hires them especially from a pool of unemployed thugs and issues them jackboots. They are local police. Nothing more. Nothing less.
If they give you an order and you get in their face they will react. Just like local police.

What a moron you must be masteen, if you were serious.
The police have done nothing unjustified. They have actually had to recruit some cops that are still training and not yet "real cops" to help keep an eye on everything because people just can't fucking behave themselves.
The infrastructure for this whole even has been impressive. There are several spots around airports where they have half a dozen helicopters just sitting around waiting to escort people places, the cops are out so thick it's almost silly.. I mean, on 11th street in Minneapolis, which is where a lot of the higher dollar hotels are that people are staying at - you literally can't walk down the sidewalk and without having 5 cops in arms reach of you.
A friend of mine is a floor manager for one of the more expensive hotels in Minneapolis (The W), and I guess all of their staff was brought into security briefings with the secret service and CIA, etc.
Not that any of this is surprising to me, it's just cool to see all this be set up and then dismantled in such a short period of time.

Because the Democrats haven't run our country into the ground for the last 8 years?Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:Ever wonder why you don't see that shit happen at functions the Demorats run?
Let's not get into calling anyone violent. Or have you forgotten what people who espouse conservative ideals often end up doing in the name of their beliefs. Call me when the violent liberal jackasses have killed a few hundred people.

You shifted the blame there like a true politician, ever thought of running for anything?Sylvus wrote:Because the Democrats haven't run our country into the ground for the last 8 years?Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:Ever wonder why you don't see that shit happen at functions the Demorats run?

Re: DNC vs. RNC
The group Anonymous was a model for protests to follow. They cared about their agenda, so they made sure to keep things peaceful, and they got sufficient media attention without resorting to violence. Violence doesn't help a protest, nor is violent protest a right.
The damage caused by some of these political protesters is disgusting. I enjoyed seeing them getting sprayed in the face with that nasty pepper spray.

You comprehended that post like a monkey or a dog, ever thought of going back to second grade?Funkmasterr wrote:You shifted the blame there like a true politician, ever thought of running for anything?Sylvus wrote:Because the Democrats haven't run our country into the ground for the last 8 years?Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:Ever wonder why you don't see that shit happen at functions the Demorats run?

How did I shift blame? Kilmoll asked a question and I answered it.
Then I proceeded to give my opinion (should I call it a fact like you do with your opinions?) that I don't think "violent jackasses" is an appropriate stereotype for liberals. Read either of masteen's links, which you probably didn't, and tell me where it mentions anyone being violent, other than the police? Sure, it sounds like (according to Ashur, in this thread) that some windows were broken and things were overturned. Was that before or after the 17 year-old kid in the first link was beaten? Before or after the members of the press were "bloodied" and "arrested" while complying with riot police orders to move back, along with the rest of the crowd to be "corralled in a parking lot" as the second article mentions?

Re: DNC vs. RNC
Sylvus,
I saw footage (on CNN I believe) of a group of "self described Anarchists" dressed exactly (all in black, black bandanna etc) like that young man that was injured in those links marching down a sidewalk in that city smashing windows of businesses and overturning those giant cement trashcans etc.
It was like the idiots at the OSU/Michigan game, but they were doing this shit while sober (including baiting riot police by pelting them with things... always a smart move).
EDIT: I agree. Liberals are usually not violent jackasses. It's an unfair and illogical comparison. Most liberals I know abhor violence and avoid it at all costs (and avoid jobs where they may have to resort to it, which may also explain why liberals tend to get the unwanted attention from police. There aren't that many liberals in the police ranks. Remember, they're all jackbooted thugs.). The ones causing the problem weren't liberals, they were just violent jackasses.

Do you really want to play the what party has murdered more game? John Wayne Gacy...Ted Kennedy...Jim JonesSylvus wrote:Because the Democrats haven't run our country into the ground for the last 8 years?Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:Ever wonder why you don't see that shit happen at functions the Demorats run?

If you had checked your own data a little more thorough you would have found McVey was a self professed Libertarian.
Want to make more comparisons? Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Jones and see what he and Obama have in common.....oh yea a common belief in Marxism.
Re: DNC vs. RNC
John Wayne Gacy? You're joking right? Jim Jones? haha, fuck right off. Sensationalist drivel. Typical of a republican supporter. The facts don't fit? No problem, lets just invoke strawman arguments and put our fingers in our ears!
