Three hours after viewing and I'm still Tromatized.
Poultrygeist is the single most disgusting movie I have ever seen. Imagine all the gore of Dead Alive with just as much shit and vomit as there is blood and you have the last 30 minutes of Poultrygeist. The acting is about the same level as Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and did I mention the vast amount of shit? I guess it's not even the shit so much as it is all the shit sounds that go on and on and on. By the end of the movie, my stomach was tied in a knot because I was inadvertantly flexing my abdominal muscles through the majority of the movie.
Poultrygeist is so over the top that I can't think of a single person I would lend it to. It would be like if a friend wanted some advice on good porn, and you told them to watch 2 Girls, 1 Cup. Your friend would never look at you the same way and might even be a little pissed.
This is as good a point in a review to tell you that I actually liked it in a weird way. The campiness and un-fucking-believe-ably over the top violence and nudity was very entertaining. It's full of nothing but race based jokes, childish humor, gratuitous nudity, and the most disgusting scenes you can imagine. The musical numbers were easily one of the high points of the movie. I think the second viewing will be better since I am now prepared for what takes place. Seriously, I cannot overstate how high the bar for gross out movies has now been set. Still, I was happy to see a movie that is just so far out there in it's own world. This movie is an experiance that you cannot turn away from once it starts. I'm happy to have this in my collection because it is an absolute gem of a cult movie!
As a recommendation to pretty much anyone I have ever met in my entire life, this gets a 0/10. As a Troma film it is an easy a 10/10.
