Space Siege

There's a demo out for this game which is based on the Dungeon Siege engine.

I had fun with the original Dungeon Siege so this might be worth a few minutes to check out.

Edit: that link is confusing. Here's direct:

Pretty fun game. Lots to upgrade. Weapons, Cybernetics, Skills, etc. Seems very polished with good graphics. Camera controls are a little odd but don't take long to get used to. It's click to move, with WASD or Arrow Keys (or moving pointer to edge of screen) moving the camera, right click to fire, 1-10 to use your abilities, F1-F10 to use your robot's abilities (which you don't get in the demo)

You need cyber arms and legs to tote around this gun.

As I found cyberparts,(arms, legs, etc) and equipped them at stations, my human % dropped and I couldn't remove the stuff after it was on so there might be a limit to what percentage of your body can be cyber which means picking the pieces you want to wear would play a factor. You can do quite a bit with not too many keys.

It's an improved dungeon siege type game for sure.

Weapons, grenades, with weapon upgrades (crit hit, crit dmg, power, etc)
Cyber parts (increases abilities)
Skills (power, speed, blah blah blah)
Abilities/Powers (AE Shock, high damage long range bolt, etc etc)

Abilites have recovery times, everything uses energy which is replenished by killing the aliens.

-easy to pick up crap (loot) hit "Z" and anything within 10-15 feet of you gets picked up.

-stuff off the dead aliens provides the resources to upgrade your abilities, weapon enhancements, buy more grenades, health, etc.

I think this game would be as fun as the X-Men Legends series played online with friends. You can have up to four people playing at once. If you've played X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, it's about the same pacing as that.

Overall not bad at all. With the original Dungeon Siege and Ultimate Alliance giving an idea of what it's like.

~950mb demo is worth the download IMO. Maybe 30 minutes of play but gives you an idea of what it will be like (if you haven't played the games I mentioned)

I remember Dungeon Siege 1 being pretty cool (it is sitting on my shelf), but I downloaded DS2 to try it out and it was fucking awful.

I didn't play DS2 so my comments refer to DS1.

Grabbed the demo and the graphics are definitely better than Dungeon Siege, but frankly the demo wasn't long enough to get a good feel for the overall game.

Fun demo. If I saw this for under 20$ I would probably buy it. IMO, it would've been better for the 360. I would've bought it for sure.

I leeched it.

Took a couple days to beat, I pretty much went into every room and blew up every container too.

The game fell short in my opinion. It had some cool ideas and for about 30 seconds those memories of "X-COM" popped back into my head, but only for about 30 seconds. Those thoughts were soon replaced by "fuck, how many of these same weak ass mobs do I have to kill to beat this game"...

It was never really much of a challenge for me, but I think I planned well and made it easy. I went Engineer route and pumped every point I could into my HRV robot, maxed his attacks/dmg/etc., I only put like 5 points into combat, since I blew up ever box and destructable in the game as soon as I saw it, I was able to max out upgrades around halfway thru the game.

The boss fights were simple, I just told HRV to shoot the boss, then had him fiegn death and then attack again. Once he FD the boss ignores him the rest of the fight and was only shooting at me. Of course I just did forward dives in circles around the bosses and shoved a zillion nades, sentries, robots, pods and mines up his ass.

I equipped all the cybernetic parts and was only 6% human at the end. Not sure if it has other endings based on your Humanity, im sure it does.

Anyway, it was a waste of 2 nights and the storyline was predictable at best. I think I already forgot about the game... what am I typing about?
