Travel Bargains?
I'm currently planning on taking a trip to Vegas around Thanksgiving, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for any sites that might be better than others as far as booking the cheapest flights/rooms?
I've checked the usual, Travelocity and Orbitz. I've also looked at the web sites of the hotels out there, unfortunately it looks as if most of their promotions seem to only be focused on now-Sept. right now.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm going to Vegas in September and used Southwest Vacations.
Mostly because it's the only nonstop flight from here to Vegas, but I found the rates very competitive (even cheaper than trying to piece meal hotel / flights independently).

Might not be as good for you, as I don't know if SW services your local airport, but it's at the very least worth a look.

Oh and I'm sure they run specials all the time, but they are currently (ends today) running ones where depending on the hotel you stay at they take $60-$100 off the top, and the travel date can be as late as Dec 23.

You should use hotels.com because my girlfriend works there.

Yeah, find me a promotional code, sir!
I hope you have some way to convince her to get me one. Otherwise I pity that poor girl.

Thanksgiving is traditionally very quiet for Vegas, so room rates should be pretty nice. The websites generally only calendar out for the next few months, but if you call them they should be able to quote you room rates.
Airfare, however, is going to be a cactus in the ass. Any airline tickets over thanksgiving are just going to fucking suck. No way around that. It's the busiest air travel weekend of the year, and the airlines price accordingly.
I don't know if it still works, but I used to use travelocity/whatever to find the flights I wanted, then go to that airline's website and book that flight. It was either $5 per flight cheaper, or $5 per trip (I forget which, but I think per flight).
