Journey to the Center of the Earth

Post by Bubba Grizz »

I wanted to see this movie for 2 main reasons. First, I love the story. The book was great. Second, I really like Brenden Frasier and I am really excited about the new mummy movie coming out in August. When I got to the theatre I hadn't known that the movie was in 3D. They gave me these big hard plastic glasses to wear. I was worried that this was going to make the movie really cheesy. After the first 15 minutes I realized that I really liked what they were doing with the effects. Granted you have some of the standard things that you would expect from a 3D movie but all in all I feel it was very well done and didn't go overboard trying to fit in as much as they could.

The movie itself was a nice twist on the story. You could definitly tell that they were planning on making a video game out of this. There were a lot of sequences that just screamed video game.

Good movie.

(side note: I went to the theatre the next day for a different movie and found that this movie cost an extra $3. I didn't realize it at the time because I paid with a gift card. So my matinee price was more than I expected.)
