It's not necessarily the woman that scares me. I know there are idiots out there, idiots who frequently have an open mic night on Fox whenever they want. It's the fact that some members of Fox's demographic might start to take these threats seriously. It's bad enough that Obama had to have Secret Service before the other candidates; now people on Fox News are calling for his assassination. By not doing anything in response, Fox is basically condoning the attitudes and platform of that speaker. As a correspondent for the network, that woman is representing that company, and what she says on their station directly speaks for their views. If they wanted to nip this in the bud, they would have made an announcement about it right from the start. They asked her to apologize a few days later at the end of another of her segments where she had already been talking about politics. It was a fucking afterthought, an, "Oh, and by the way," Columbo moment.
If she had said that about President Bush, she would have been shipped off to fucking Guantanamo Bay. It's vulgar and sickening.
