Amarula Cream

Post by Siji »

Having nearly completely stocked my liquor cabinet at home, and always looking for new drinks to put into my card file, I've run across a few drinks that call for amarula cream. I've never had (or heard of) this stuff. Anyone here tried it that can give your best explanation of how it tastes, as say compared to Bailey's? I've perused their web site but haven't seen where they describe the flavor so much as how it's made.

Today's drink of the morning:

Hologram
¾ oz Blue Curacao
¾ oz Crème de Banana
¾ oz Cranberry Juice

Looks different from the side of the glass vs over the top, like a hologram.

if you were walking around and you came upon a tulip with tits, would you let it be for the rest of the world to enjoy.. or would you pick it and carry it off to a secluded area to motorboat them?

Swirl/strain or shake/strain, whichever. Just don't shake too much or it'll get cloudy. I do it as a shooter, no ice. Guess you could do a highball and fill it w/ice and then fill cranberry but that's a whole new drink to me.

Not a bad one I just made..

Irish Angel

1 oz Irish Whiskey
1/2 oz Creme de Menthe
1/2 oz Creme de Cacao
Heavy splash of cream

I believe the recipe called for dark CdC and white CdM, but I did the opposite. Irish drinks that can be, should be green imo. Tastes the same either way.

2 1/4 Maker's Mark
1 1/4 Grand Marnier
Press (equal parts gingerale/soda)

Amazing.

Or just a bottle of Jameson is a good time as well.

If you like Jameson, try Powers.. best selling in Ireland, but not all that popular here. Good for sipping straight though.

This was a little sweet for my taste, but at a restaurant I frequent, the bartender recently made what tasted almost exactly like grape soda. It was quite good.

I don't know the ratios exactly, so it may take a little experimentation.

Grape Vodka
Creme de Cassis
Club Soda or Sprite

The Sprite made it a little sweeter and it seemed more like soda pop, but I preferred the less sweet version with Club Soda.

Very tasty.
