Guitar Hero 3 tournament

So, I am going to enter one this weekend. Has anyone else went to one of these? While it is nerdy as hell it sounds like it will be pretty fun. It is at a casino kinda nearby, here is the site for the competition in case there are any other MN people on here interested. Free to enter and even 8th place gets $750 dollars! Hopefully guitar hero will make me rich

I have one piece of advice...

DO NOT JUST STAND THERE.

You have to move around a bit. Be animated. Have character. Be a rock star.

Practice this at home and retain the confidence to do it in public.

Uh, no. They don't pay you by how animated you are, they pay by how good you are. It's easy to fuck up just going into overdrive, let alone trying to be a rock star with a plastic toy guitar. I only saw one tournament in my area at I bar after work one night, and I couldn't stay.

Every tourney I have seen had a "Creativity" component to the scoring.

Hmm, I wish they had what the scoring is based off of defined more clearly in their rules.. There is a separate prize pool for costume, which I don't have. I hope I don't have to jump around and shit while I'm playing, I'm not much of a public performer!

Try to find that Elvis costume that gives you male cameltoe. That will take care of the costume/presentation part of the judging.
