X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Pretty interesting cast here.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458525/
I have no other information about the movie, but the cast caught my eye... Deadpool, Sabertooth, Scott Summers (played by a different actor than in the X-men movies). Oh yeah, and umm.... Gambit. ^ ^

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I was always a huge fan of Deadpool. He was a badass. I had to play through that X-Men Legends twice just to play him.
Yeah, I'm excited.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
From what I know about this movie, it's looking to be tough and gritty like the latest Batman franchise. They were pushing for an R rating at one point, but I think they've since settled on PG-13. Of course, that could change again too. It has a good looking cast. I mean it. Pretty much every male role is some a hunky guy. I certinaly don't think the women will be hurting for eye candy in this. The selection of characters also looks promising. I can't wait to see Deadpool's sense of humor depicted in the movie. Ryan Reynolds was gifted casting for that character. The guy who plays Sabertooth looks pretty bad ass in make up. I also like Liev Schreiber, the actor who is playing him.
Concentrating on the origins and background of Wolverine is a pretty smart choice, especially the special ops weapon X team. It gives them plenty of opportunities for action, that's for sure. They've already said if there is to be a sequel, it would likely be set in Japan.
Apparently the Magneto movie has been written and they are curently casting. A young Beast will be in the film, but the rest of the characters have yet to be announced.

Totally agree about Ryan Reynolds. He's actually the reason I found out this movie was cast this way. I was looking up his filmography when I noticed.

News from Comicon
Wolverine
Hugh Jackman showed up to massive applause. Having just gotten off the plane and with shooting just wrapped, the super-buff Aussie hunk got the crowd riled up as he ran into the audience and shook "Wolverine" creator Len William's hand with very thankful platitudes of gratitude. Jackman calls it "action-packed and bad ass!" and we'll get to see a lot of berserker rage.
Then came the footage, a montage of clips with Wolverine and Sabertooth line up to be executed - but neither dying. A young William Stryker (Danny Huston) reveals he's putting together a special team (we see some Gambit and Deadpool footage). We see the experiment that made Wolverine, including a bit where he rises nude (tastefully shot) and wet out of the tub to attack people. There's also a young kid with claws, Wolvie and Sabertooth fighting, Wolvie hanging onto a helicopter, and Wolvie on a bike shredding his claws through a truck which causes it to flip.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
G4 interviewed Jackman on the floor, and "wow" is he buffed up. His entire upper body is bigger than I have ever seen him. He really got into the role!
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Wolverine needs to break this Batman movie record.
Can't be having a DC character in the #1 spot.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Similar to what kev posted, here's footage from Wolverine Origins out of Comicon:
http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/xm ... on-footage
http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/xm ... footage-ii
The first part doesn't show much but the second part shows Gambit and some action. The crowd goes nuts when Gambit shows up on the screen.
I'd rather have seen another X-Men movie instead of an origin story for Wolverine but this looks promising.
Spotted in trailer:
Emma Frost
Gambit
Deadpool
Blob

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I dunno what to think...It looks a bit cheap of for a superhero movie...
Hoping to see Deadpool with a full mask and all...Ryan Reynolds better get his face mangled to shit atleast.
I'm still excited though.

I hope they don't screw up Emma Frost in this movie with some two bit actor. She's one of the most deep characters in the Marvel Universe.

Yeah, didn't like Ryan R as Deadpool or Schreiber as Sabretooth.
Sid would be a good Sabretooth.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Hopefully this is a good thing:
Fox has allowed for Gavin Hood to return the cast of X-Men Origins: Wolverine to the set for some extensive reshoots. From the sound of things, this is to settle the ongoing creative conflicts that we have been hearing about.
First Showing offers:
Fox is conducting very extensive reshoots over the next few weeks. They’re also saying that studios usually try and keep news like this under the radar, but Fox even wanted to bring in some journalists to cover these reshoots. Why? Well because apparently Gavin Hood is going to be directing them. My guess is that he’s getting his chance to fix the movie, but they’re also trying to “cover up” any previous bad buzz by bringing journalists in and “showing” them that it’s Hood directing, not Rothman and not Donner.
A lot of power struggles were heard of behind the scenes of this movie, and it appeared that Gavin Hood was barely doing the job he was asked to do. Fox brought in Richard Donner to “guide” Hood in his efforts to the point that some media were calling Donner the real director on set.
I have to weigh in on Gavin Hood’s side here. I don’t know what his take is, or if the studios wanted something else, but the bottom line is that they liked his vision for the film when they got him to sign the papers, they have to have faith that he will do the job. Its the “too many cooks in the kitchen” thing that worries me.
For once I am actually relieved that they are reshooting. From the buzz generated over the very cool trailer (which was apparently only made of Hood’s directed stuff) Fox has decided that Hood can have his film back. Admitting they were wrong in derailing his vision? Perhaps.
I just hope this all works out in the end and we get a great film that this character deserves.
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Fox sucks. If they fucked up the Watchmen release I was going to boycott, but they settled so I may yet see this.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I love Wolverine, I dislike Hugh Jackman, because he is as beige as milk.
Hopefully, but not realistically, this will be one of the last of absolute dying on its ass Comic-to-film crossovers. Isn't everyone else sick of them? Wolverine deserves a film, and the fact he hasn't already given half of the shit that has passed (that Ben Affleck monstrosity, whatever forgettable bullshit it was) says it all.
I'm all for a Wolverine film, just wish it wasn't Bland as fuck Jackman performing the role. Wolverine deserves better.
Yeah, seriously though, unless they are going to make Comic films better in relation to their original ideals, then they should just stop, it's over saturation and dumbing down for mediocrity's sak at this point. Hopefully this film will be an exception. We'll see.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
The opening scene to X-Men 2 with Nightcrawler is one of the best ever for a superhero movie. I'd be happy to see much more like it.
