None of these are my idea of the "ultimate" game room but they're something to look at.

Re: Game Rooms
My Pinball machine fried this weekend

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Re: Game Rooms
Odd you would post this. Right now my wife and are going to be planning out a rather large 2 story addition for our home. We live in a tri-level home, and the entire ground level floor is all mine to do with as I want. So far, a pool table, an 8 ft professional air hockey table, a MAIM arcade machine, and some slot machines are on my list. These will be on the main/entry level. This whole area's theme will be Vegas style with neon and lots of attention grabbing stuff. If I have room for a bar area, it will go up here (not looking like it though!). You then take 3 steps down into the next area, and that is going to be the home theater area. Indirect lighting and an open floor plan will dominate this area, seperating it from the game area in both tone and design. This entire level of the house will be open from one end to the other, just like our upstairs, which has exactely one wall seperating the bedrooms and bathroom from the dining room, kitchen, and living room (which is all one interrupted room). The one major difference between the upstairs and our addition is that I won't have nearly as many windows. Our living room has over 50 windows! Due to taking 3 steps down, we'll have the same 14 foot ceilings in the theater area as the upstairs. The Vegas are will have a standard ceiling, further seperating the 2 areas.
We're planning on building within the next 2-3 years. We have a couple of other projects we want to get out of the way first. Overall, it will double our existing living space. The upstairs portion will be our master bedroom, a large bathroom, and another bedroom. (3rd child?!?) We're also talking about expanding the kitchen, but we'll just have to wait and see. Kitchen remodeling is expensive as fuck, and our existing kitchen, even though it's small, is top of the fucking line. I would feel bad busting up marble counter tops and hardwood floors to replace them with cheaper and inferior materials for a little more space.
We'll have to take down a 70-80 foot tree out of our back yard to make this happen. That is my only regret
We're surrounded by some unusually large trees here, but that one is all alone in the back yard and I've always thought it was a beautiful tree.
