Odd Vent/Mic/Headphone bug

Post by Dregor Thule »

To preface: I use a mic/headphones when using vent. Usually I don't play music while raiding, but lately I have been. For some reason the music is being transfered out through my mic when I hit push to talk so everyone can hear it. It's not like I'm listening to it loud or anything, it's like it's just directly pumping it into the mic's output. Any ideas?

My onboard soundcard always did this. I never found a fix for it, and would just balance the volume vs. the mic volume so that I could be heard fine over the music. It became sort of a fun thing for people to figure out what I was listening to.

heh, this happened to a guildie when we were playing SupCom a couple weeks ago. We couldn't figure out how we were hearing the music if he had headphones on, and we thought he was just trying to play off the fact that his music was just really loud.

My onboard sound does it as well, never have found a fix. Pretty sure it's a DIrectSound driver issue. It's not bad when I'm OT, no tunes when I'm MT :(

A guy in the guild installed a second sound card to deal with it.

Yeah, putting my old creative card back in fixed it.
