Which XBox game to buy next?

I got an xbox about a month and a half ago and since GTA 4 isn't coming out for another 2 months or something, I will probably need to get another game to tide me through until then.

I currently own 7 xbox360 games:

Bioshock (great!)
Assassins creed (haven't really played it much)
Oblivion (nfc how to play this game and the character runs far too slowly and it pisses me off)
Moto GP 07 (I like motorbikes)
Lego star wars (mainly for neice - its crap though)
Virtua Tennis 3 (I like it but then again I like tennis)
Fifa 08 (dont play much)

I hear Mass Effect is good, and also that Call of duty is fantastic, so they would be on the shortlist. Anyone have any preference for either, or suggestions for other games?

If you're a fan of GTA-style sandbox games, do yourself a favor and pick up Crackdown.

You can get it for dirt cheap most likely and it's a blast to play.

Mass Effect, AC, Crackdown and Bioshock were my favorite games of 2007.

Mass Effect if you like a good Sci Fi RPG/FPS type game
Lost Odyssey of you like Fantasy RPG/Turn Based game

CoD4 if you like playing against other players over Live.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 comes out in 11 days. That is the only list to be on right now. I heard you can plant car bombs on limeys in this one! Seriously though....read the new stuff on it and let me tell you that the first one for 360 was really good but just lacking SOMETHING for the multiplayer. They have added just about everything I was hoping they would except for being able to knife people like you can in CoD 4. I can't wait to pick it up.

Oh....and although the CoD 4 story line was awesome and the gameplay was really good....it was WAY too short. If you buy it, understand that you are getting it for the multiplayer.

All of those are going to be very good in my mind, I could go into details about each but it would be boring. If the guitar hero/rock band games interest you at all, you should really pick one up. I would suggest Rock Band being as the song list is expanded every week, this week they just added 3 NIN tracks, and they are soon going to be releasing full albums, starting with Nirvana - Nevermind and a Who album.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 actually does look really good. Like Kilmoll said, all of the things that I didn't like or thought were lacking in the first game have been addressed to one degree or another in this iteration, so I'm thinking it will be a very good game.

I would wait for Rainbow Six if you want a shooter to be honest (as opposed to getting CoD4), there is going to be a TON more to do single player / co op wise, plus just as good (or maybe even better) of a system for online multiplayer.

I would say definately buy Rock Band. Just too much damned fun, especially with other people.

I may look into Mass Effect, and the Rainbow six one should be pretty cool. I'm not overly into xbox live, but thats because I only just set it up and have been too busy irl to really give it a proper go.

I don't like the rock band/guitar hero games at all, it just seems like I could be properly practicing an instrument instead of a pretend one with those games. Also, for some reason, I haven't seen Rock Band anywhere, even if I was to pick it up out of interest

RB 6 is really nice for being able to kick back and have fun with friends on Live. You don;t have to do PvP with it....you can do terrorist hunts with friends. I think that is where we had the most fun ....setting up the hardest settings with the highest terrorist population and trying to beat it co-op.
