Hanson

Post by Winnow »

I downloaded a "top hits" collection from the 90's a few days ago (~600 songs) and have been listening through it. At #92 was "Mmmbop" by Hanson.

The original video:

Performed live:

Proof that if you are a kid and have blonde hair, grow it out long, start a band and chicks will go nuts over you.

I couldn't understand a word they were saying but it didn't seem to matter to the crowd in the live version.

Someone commented that they have 189 Hanson songs on their iPod. They really have that many?

out of curiosity, here's Hanson in 2004 singing Mmmbop in an "unplugged" type format.

I don't think the song really lends itself to being sung that way!

I did! I read through the comments of the original video and was surprised at how many people liked them. "Best band ever" type comments.

I remember seeing the video back when it came out but that was it. I never really heard anything more about them, thinking they were talentless kids getting by on "cuteness" factor. Didn't realize they managed to pump out 189 songs.

That kid from "John from Cincinnati" should start a band!

Goes to show how many mildly retarded people there are out there.

I guess the better question would be what compelled you to click on a thread, in the Audiophilia forum, titled 'Hanson' in the first place.

I think it was kind of the "train wreck" effect for me.

I clicked it because I was wondering if Winnow actually started a thread about Hanson (the music group). If that was true, I wanted to find out if the post was made because Hanson had some relation to Arizona. I didn't realize it was in the Audiophilia forum because I use the New Posts page, and generally don't look at the forum the post is in before I click.

In the 90's photo, the dude in the back looks deformed.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

They might have that many songs, but that count could easily be bulked up with live versions, remixes, cover songs, etc...which is probably the case in that instance.

I saw a recent news article where the oldest one had some sort of blood clot and had to go through surgery to fix things. They removed a rib to ease the pressure. He looks like he has some sort of bone anomaly in those pictures.

Not to pile on to the poor guy, but while listening to mmmbop, in the interests of this post, the oldest one's voice sounded terrible and out of whack with the mumblings of the other two.

At a KoE gathering about 7 years ago, where I met Truant. He looked like a Hanson back in the day!
