Well Capcom is releasing an updated version for the PSN and XBLA called Bionic Commando Rearmed..

It looks fantastic!! Hopefully that 2-player co-op is online!

Now Capcom, if you can do this type of treatment for MegaMan and Strider, you will get a lot more of my money.

Hell yes, I loved that game. I have never really had too many complaints about Capcom, the last game of theirs I played (I think) was Lost Planet and beside being the hardest game I have played (possibly ever) it was a great game with fun multiplayer. Big fan of the megaman games too, I bought the megaman collection disc for the gamecube (all of the games) and I still pop that in once in a while.

Different game though. That one is the new game/3D version.
This one is the original side-scroller with updated graphics and new stuff added.

Well this sucks. Due to MS's file size cap on XBLA titles, Bionic Commando Rearmed will have lower resolution textures than the PS3/PC version.

Hopefully if they give us a lesser version, they'll knock a couple of bucks off the price.

So to anyone that was wondering and hasn't downloaded this yet, it's awesome. They did a great job with the new textures, and added some pieces to the game to give you even more playtime. I'd definitely say this is worth the money if you are looking for a game to occupy your time!

I did end up getting this. Nice, cheap, fun game. Btw, rag doll physics in a 2-D sidescroller is awesome. Two player is most excellent as long as both people know what they're doing.

This game is absolutely tanking for reviews. I am so disappointed because I was really looking forward to this game, but Game Informer gave it a 5, and they usually aren't that far off.

Considering the campaign is very short and they said it has very little replay value, and while the multiplayer is cool it's not something I think I'd get heavily into, I might end up skipping this one.

The multiplayer demo was complete shit IMO. I played it for around an hour and walked away thinking how lame it was. Like you, I was really disappointed since this was one of the very few games I was looking forward to. They really need to spread gaming releases out a bit more. I don't even have a release on the horizon to look forward to right now. This was it!

I though they got the swinging mechanic in the Multiplayer demo really well. I had a ton of fun with it.
Why they decided to go with the standard deathmatch with this instead of doing something fun like high flying arm swing races I have no idea.

Kind of a scam for a deal of the week

It's been 4.99 on the PSN for quite a while now, and I gues starting next week Capcom wanted them to lower the price to 400 points so it's not really a deal. Still though, if you haven't got it yet now is the time! One of the best remakes I've ever played.

I really really want the new game to be good, and part of me wants to just say fuck it and buy it hoping I end up liking it.. But I have a feeling I'll end up being disappointed, especially with Fuel, inFAMOUS, Prototype, Guitar Hero Smash Hits and Cross Edge all coming out in the next couple weeks.

Bionic Commando Rearmed, a high-profile Xbox Live Arcade remake of the original, sold more than 130,000 units across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in its first week of release. By contrast, the full retail version of Bionic Commando (a sequel to the XBLA title) sold more than 100,000 units less than Rearmed in two weeks of release last month.

Bionic Commando Rearmed was meant as an introduction to the franchise for gamers unfamiliar with the series. It included special codes to unlock new costumes and weapons in the retail version of Bionic Commando. But Rearmed's success clearly didn't translate to the sequel.

Less than 30,000 units sold? Fucking ouch. I'll pick it up when it's in the cheape bin.

Yeah this was the biggest disappointment in gaming for me in a long time, Bionic Commando was one of my favorite NES games and I was really looking forward to this. I still want to play it, but I too will wait for it to be cheap somewhere (which might not take long with those numbers.)

I hope that they don't take these sales numbers as a indication that bringing this franchise back was a bad idea, if Capcom had developed this title themselves and put the same polish on it that they put on Lost Planet, it would have owned. Hopefully they will give it another shot sometime.

Now I want to see a remake of Guardian Legend and Startropics!

I didn't even know there were 2... Maybe it was shitty marketing or bad timing, because I thought the XBLA title was it and assumed the box I saw at gamestop was a physical version of the arcade game.

Played the multiplayer demo, and was underwhelmed.
Graphics looked like original xbox graphics.

May get it to play a bit if it pops in the gamefly queue, but won't be heartbroken if it doesn't.
