Tin Man (Sci Fi Channel)

Post by Winnow »

Has anyone else watched this series?

It's a six hour mini series from the Sci Fi channel, released in 2 hour installments.

If you grab the shows off the newsgroups, they run about 90 minutes each without commercials. (first one posted about 28 days ago)

I'm not a Wizard of OZ fan but this take on it has kept me watching. I'm halfway through the second episode and still enjoying it. It's nothing like "The Wiz". This is more interesting IMO.

The story starts out a little goofy but gets better as the various characters join "DG" (Dorothy). While there are characters that represent the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion thing, they are different than the originals. The Tin Man, for example, was in law enforcement and that's why he's known as a Tin Man (his badge). Toto is a shape shifting black guy.

The story starts out in our world, same as the original, so it takes a little while to get a handle on things.

Azkadellia (the evil sister) is hot.

It's worth downloading if you have Newsleecher (search for "Tin Man" at least 30 days back and you'll find all episodes) It's not a sure thing but worthy of a look.

I have these saved on the DVR, but I haven't made the time to actually watch them. It sounded like it was good, and the only real complaints I have heard are about how it ended.

I completed the full 4.5 hours tonight (no commercials length) I thought the ending was fine. This isn't a musical so perhaps people were upset that everyone didn't break into song at the end or something but it had a satisfactory ending which brought it to a close.

Well done considering it was made for TV.

I thought it was pretty good, would watch it again and will snag it on DVD if I see it.
