Nancy Drew

Post by Winnow »

It was ok. Nancy's got skills but she lacks a supporting cast to help out during her case solving while Brown had Sally Kimball to help out sometimes.

The mystery in the Nancy Drew movie was presented in a way that didn't provide enough clues to let the viewer try and solve the case before Nancy did so it loses some points there.

6.9/10

I'd like to see an Encyclopedia Brown vs Nancy Drew movie.

BTW, I took heat for a comment I made about Encyclopedia Brown awhile ago.

I'd just like to set the record straight with a quote from 2005. I referenced Drew and the H Boys because I didn't think that many were familiar with E.Brown:

It happens to be from a thread Pilsbury started regarding buying a car to is an interesting historical thread in itself.

I must admit I loved reading the Encyclopedia Brown books when I was a kid. They were a lot of fun. To be fair, I never read any Nancy Drew books.

My oldest niece just started with the Nancy Drew books, so I gathered a bunch of the older hardcover books from a used book store for part of her Christmas gift. Any time I can help drive someone to actually read something, I will!

Agreed, and I've been trying to do the same with music!
