Ho Ho Ho, No No No

Post by Tyek »

SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.

"Leave Santa alone."

A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.
I see they have left it up to the individual Santa on whether to say it, but this has to be among the most assinine examples of political correctness ever. One of these Santa's should start saying "Empowered Women are beautiful, Empowered Women are beautiful, Empowered Women are beautiful" instead of Ho Ho Ho.

I know we have women who post here, have you ever passed by a Santa and thought, I can't believe he is saying HO HO HO???

I am waiting for the day my kids come home from school excited about Winter Festival because the schools have outlawed the use of specific holiday names so that they do not offend people who do not celebrate those holidays.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

I really feel for kids today, and I'm not at all happy about the world that my daughter is going to grow up in. I'm so fucking sick of political correctness, that it seems like a disease that we can't wipe out.

Grow a fucking backbone humans. If you're so fucking simple minded that the words coming out of the mouth of someone else do any damage to you what-so-ever, then fuck you and go die. You lose at the game of life.

If you're a [insert color/race here] person and use the word [insert slang/insult here], then fuck you and don't be a whiny bitch because someone that's not of your color/race uses it.

Anyone offended by Santa's "Ho, ho, ho" needs a good fucking punch in the face. Ridiculous.

I hate that song with a passion, I don't even want to call my cousin anymore because she has that song as her call tone or whatever for t mobile.

On topic: This is ridiculous, I would like to say I'm surprised but I'm not, and that makes it even worse.

It is absolutely, positively asinine to take "ho ho ho" (a phrase that has been in existence for almost a millennium) as referring to the colloquial "ho" that is comparatively "brand-new". While I'm mostly against political correctness (at least to the degree the world expects it today), I understand that it exists because in some cases it is necessary or beneficial. This is about as far away from one of those cases as anything could possibly be.

Im more amazed it havent been taken further. I mean, look at how Santa acts, he should be imprisoned right way.

Think about it, we got him listed for the following crimes/tendencies:
Hiring slave labour. You think those elves get paid and have free time, vacation or unions? Santa is a slaver.
Marriage breaker. We know from several songs that he like to seduce females, and potentially break marriages and emotionally scar kids forever.
Degrading women. His famous "Ho Ho Ho" line.
Reindeer abuser. The guy keep reindeer that he force to ride for him every christmas, all around the world. Forcing reindeer to ride all those miles, carrying a huge sled with toys enough for all the nice kids in the world, thats a crime for sure.
Favorism. Sorting kids in good kids/bad kids, clearly favorising the good kids, and give the bad kids coal.
Taking bribes. Milk and cookies, do i need to say more?
Suspected child abuse. Just listen to the guy "So little 5 year old boy, have you been good this year? If so ill climb down your chimney late at night and come and give you "presents", IF you are good to Santa."

We should all start a "Stop Santa" group, to set a stop to this horrible man.

Yep.

You really have to wonder at the mentality of the people who try and push this sort of idiocy. It's worrying that in 2007 we live in a world where this sort of thing remains an uncomfortable reality to continually, if not increasingly, have to deal with or hear of.
