Proof of insurance required to get a job?... Oh Hillary...

Post by Fash »

The former proponent of a universal government-run health care system, whose silence was bought and paid for, is back with a vengeance. Now running for president, she's talking about universal health care again... but instead of making health care automatic, she's talking about making it mandatory!! She's not talking about fixing the clusterfuck that is private health care, instead she wants to feed and subsidize it!! Who the hell is going to think this is a good idea?...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070918/ap_ ... nterview_6
TFA wrote: WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday that a mandate requiring every American to purchase health insurance was the only way to achieve universal health care but she rejected the notion of punitive measures to force individuals into the health care system.

"At this point, we don't have anything punitive that we have proposed," the presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. "We're providing incentives and tax credits which we think will be very attractive to the vast majority of Americans."

She said she could envision a day when "you have to show proof to your employer that you're insured as a part of the job interview — like when your kid goes to school and has to show proof of vaccination," but said such details would be worked out through negotiations with Congress.

Clinton unveiled her health care plan Monday in Iowa, promising to bring coverage to every American by building on the current employer-based system and using tax credits to make insurance more affordable.

Hope that she isn't picked as someone's VP running mate or the democrats are screwed again and we'll wind up with whatever candidate the Republicans decide to back.

I see that coming already. The republicans could run Pat Robertson against any ticket with her on it and win.

The democrats have shown an absolute inability to take advantage of anything they've been handed.

I don't disagree that our healthcare system is in a shambles, step "A" should be to get the insurance companies the hell out of it. Of course it would take massive reforms in DC for any change to even begin.

Is Clinton really so despised that a Republican would beat her, even any of these fucking losers vying for Republican nomination?

That's almost impossible to believe.

Then again, Bush won 2 elections, even one after the retarded invasion of Iraq. It's not like voter intelligence can be relied on here very much.

My opinion on your question is no. I don't think if Hilary wins the nomination that the election automatically goes to the Republicans. There's still over a year until the election.

I really honestly think that the answer to that question is yes, and not just because my good pal shit said the opposite. Take a closer look at the candidates on both sides of the spectrum, I personally don't see a good solid choice either way.

I guess I got under Funks skin because he seems to want to refer to me in whatever thread he posts in because he thinks 'shit' is clever. . Which is fine by me because I find his frustration quite amusing. Just goes to show his level of intelligence and maturity.

I feel that I gave you a perfectly logical explanation as to why I call you what I do. And I was going to respond to this either way, being able to throw something in about you just made it more fun :) Maybe you are confused as to whom it is that's frustrated.

You are the one that always has to make a comment about what I said instead of ignoring me and focusing on the topic at hand.

I think most of us will just be happy to see the Bush family out of the white house. Just no Rudy, please, no Rudy.

No kidding. Aslanna, you're becoming a troll. Funk didn't even say anything damaging about you in that last post of his. Grow a dick.

This interview does little to change my image of Hillary. I wouldn't vote for her or somebody with her as a VP. That's not to say I would even remotely consider a Republican candidate. I think for many Americans, apathy would take over and we'd have an unpopular president either way, so would it really matter if it's Dem or Rep? This country has quite a hole to climb out of at this point. What we should probably agree on is that Hillary as influential is bad.

Oh no Leonaerd and Funk are ganging up on me whatever shall I do? Who said he said anything damaging? Surely not me. That doesn't mean I shouldn't point out his stupidity. You and him are overestimating the affect his comments have on me. If anyone was a troll in this thread it was Funk. But maybe you're too high to see that. Perhaps you should lay off the drugs for awhile and see if your clarity improves.

And as stated earlier Funk you don't frustrate me in the slightest so there's no confusion on my part. If anything your constant flailing about like a cat in the ocean is a neverending source of amusement albeit with slight sadness at how pathetic it usually is. So continue to dance for me monkey.

People didn't vote for Bush the second time, they voted against Kerry. Anyone vs. Hilary will get an even stronger reaction. I'd have voted for most any moderate the Dems chose to run last time like many others.

I really don't like Hillary but her only real competition at this point is Obama. There is no Republican that has the level of support that she does. As for this Health care plan, it sucks. I really reminds me of all the mandated car insurance plans. They mandated car insurance, which isn't a bad thing, and then those insurance assholes jacked all the rates through the roof. Now in some cities if you get caught driving without insurance then you get taken to jail. Are they going to do the same thing with health insurance now? Instead of "taxing" (and it is a tax) the people by forcing them to buy insurance, maybe they should tax those insurance companies more or close the loopholes that allow them not to pay a dime in taxes in the first place. Take the profit out of sick people adn then we can see some ral changes to our health care system.

I could be wrong but I really believe that America is the only country in the world where there are corporations that make a huge profit off of sick people.

That's hilarious. Do I really need an army to take on the likes of you two? Hardly. I'm an army of one! And that's more than enough. Think what you want about me because I don't plan on changing. How anonymous people on an internet message board view me is the least of my concerns. I hope I now annoy you as much as I apparently annoy Funk. If you have a problem with that put me on ignore. Or get me banned lolz.

Hillary has the highest percentage of people that absolutely will not vote for her according to polls so while she's popular with democrats, she isn't going anywhere.

If she does manage to somehow get on the ticket, the shit will fly nonstop from her past. I'd guess the republicans are hoping she does get the democrat nomination for that reason.

I'm not worried about Hillary being elected. She won't be. I'd be more bummed that the democrats will fuck up a chance to have a decent candidate elected to balance things out and reduce our deficit some so we can gear up for another war in ten years. If we get another republican stooge in there too soon, we really may run the country into the ground instead of keeping the cycle balanced. The leading candidates for the republicans are horrible atm.

I don't doubt you at all and I know you're not alone... What bothers me isn't that people will feel this way, it's the possibility that 'they' know this and will force-feed us the Clinton dog and pony show until election day and virtually hand the victory to the republicans.

The whole candidate selection process is fucked, as in completely controlled. It shouldn't take 100 million dollars to 'win' the office. They should be looking for genuine patriots who want to serve their country, whose histories are freely available, who speak freely instead of reading speeches, who make themselves almost totally available for honest questioning, and who will rule in as open a fashion as possible. It's not rocket science, but we keep picking corrupt, rich, and greedy assholes (...only they don't give us a choice.)
