As much as people complain about Favre they don't really realize that he's had 3000 yard seasons for the last 15 years. Also he is almost always over 20 TD passes. Sure he throws interceptions but he's still worth a lot of points overall.

Not tooting the fanboi horn here either Winnow! Just the facts.

I picked up Favre in the 12th round of a 12 team league this weekend so I'm not completely anti Favre. That particular league doesn't get penalized for interceptions and I know that Favre will always play, even if he has to use a walker to get out on the field so I know I'll have an active backup for my QB during the bye week. Favre knows what's best for Farve and that's playing no matter what, heaving long bombs that are up for grabs. His receivers are bound to catch a few of them!

Thank you, kilmoll. I have been getting chastised for taking him in the 5th round in both the drafts I was in. He will do as good, if not better, than Antonio Gates, a perennial third rounder. It's borderline absurd to let him slip that far, especially in yardage leagues.

Zamtuk: I'll make an avatar bet with you. Kellen Winslow doesn't score more than 85% of the fantasy points of Antonio Gates. Using VV NFC rules.

Is that to me?

If it is, Winslow scoring 85% of Gates' fantasy points, or better, by NFC VV rules wins for you. Loser wears sports related avatar of other's choice for a month.

I think Zam will win this one. Winslow in the 5th is too early in my mind, but he still is the best offensive weapon for a team with QB's that can throw short check downs and have no real vertical passing or running game. Had I been drafting, he would have been the first tight end I looked for and it would have been round 6-8 depending on how well I had done with my RB's and receivers.

The other true bonus for Winslow over Gates is that the Browns are a non-playoff team and he will be playing all year vs being shut down to avoid injury as Gates may be. My entire draft strategy revolves around finding the best players from teams that will be competing for Wild Cards or will be an 8-8 type team that plays a lot of porous defenses.

Don't forget that Winslow is a self-proclaimed soldier, shit, he's promoted himself to Lieutenant now!

I stay the fuck away from players on teams like Cleveland. Their offense sucks balls until proven otherwise, and Winslow in particular has proven himself a fragile dumbass for two of his previous three NFL seasons.

Winslow is pretty low on my TE list as well. I think I have him at most the 6th best TE. I picked Gates early last year in one of my leagues, third round I believe. He wasn't worth it when I look back at it. I always look for a WR1 before I look at TEs. If there are still top tier WRs available then I will take one of them over a top tier TE. WRs are really plentiful this year. You can get top notch talent into the 4th round pretty easily.

On those Tight End bets:

There are two. Zamtuk is betting on Kellen Winslow. One of them is against me, for 85% of Gates' production. The other one is against Winnow, Winslow v. Vernon Davis, straight up.

So far:

Antonio Gates: 59.85
Kellen Winslow: 38.55 (64% of Gates)
Vernon Davis: 12.15

So I'm beating Zamtuk, and Zamtuk is beating Winnow.

Good call on Winslow, he looks good so far this year.

Vernon Davis has been a bust. Unless something freakish happens, I'll lose my first avatar bet!

Winslow is an injury or off field problem waiting to happen! Cross your fingers!

He had a meeting last week to voice his frustrations of his lack of a part in the offense. Of course then he dropped a few passes in the game on sunday. He'll have a break out game soon!
