Starcraft 2 gallery from Blizzcon

Post by Sartori »

I know there's another thread "what's blizzard gonna announce", but it's more arguing than anything.

Some pics of the game from Blizzcon. They built up a horde of units to kill the AI:

16 units grouped instead of 12. That will make even larger army fights. I like it. 4 more units x 10 hotkeyed numbers: 40 more units per side that can be sent around quickly. An even larger zerg than ever now!

They finally updated the site with zerg units.

Still looks like more of the same. It's a good thing I fucking love Starcraft!

EDIT: WTF is the rolling thing tumbling into the terran bunker in the Mutalisk video? I like the looks of it, whatever it is. I think it's full of zerglings!

wow...that was one of the most poorly produced game trailers I've seen in a long time. I hope that's not indicative of the level of voice acting or scripting for the game. Yikes.

Not getting excited... it looks too, what? "Busy" is I guess the word that comes to mind.

The only reason I'm excited about SC2 is because World of Starcraft will come out 3 years later if they follow the WC3 -> WoW formula.

And then my dreams of driving around a capital city as a siege tank shouting LFG will be complete!

And I'll get stuck in the door of the bank and get all pissed off!

Speaking of galleries, last weekend I was invited to attend a tour of Blizzard's HQ, and I got to see their Starcraft 2 offices. I admit that I was impressed with it.

Pics are on my website.

This. Jesus Christ, whoever's responsible for Kerrigan's voice is awful. Where's the kickass cinematic trailers we've come to expect from Blizzard?

Listening to a guy that played Starcraft 2 last week for an extended period of time, he says people who loved the original have nothing to worry about as it plays just like it. Some minor unit tweaks along with much improved graphics is what to expect.

It dosen't look like SC2 will make it out in '08. I was hoping for an Xmas release.

Final StarCraft 2 Release Date, Not in 2008 ?

Blizzard's Anticipated Science-Fiction PC RTS Sequel, StarCraft 2m Won't Hit this Year, According to an Extremely Sparse Report from Internode Games Network:

http://games.internode.on.net/content.p ... ws&id=3317

The Studio is only "about a third of the way" Done with the Game's Campaign Mode and is Currently Focusing on Story and Cinematics, Executive Vice-President, Rob Pardo, Revealed during a Talk at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational.

Pardo further Noted that the Company Hopes to Have Something Impressive to Show by the Year's End, Causing the Site to Conclude that the Title Won't Arrive in Stores in 2008.

Blizzard Has Yet to Make any Official Statement regarding the Release of StarCraft 2. Prior to the Worldwide Invitational, Several Retailers Began Listing an Unconfirmed December 3rd Release, Fueling Speculation that a Date Would be Announced at the Event.
