I had not watched it until a few weeks ago when I saw the first two seasons on DVD. I set the DVR to record new episodes.

Never watched it. But.... with our regular shows not being on (The Shield, Sopranos, Nip/Tuck and BSG), there is nothing on TV that we want to watch - so we are going to give Rescue Me a try. Artie Lange, who I enjoy, is making a six episode appearance this season.

Haven't watched it either, but a friend recently recommended it to me as one of her favorites. So, I'll be netflixing it soon.

It's a good one. I haven't watched the previous season yet, this thread has reminded me that I need to.

Once I made my last post, I went back to Netflix and realized that I never saw the third season. For some reason I thought this season was the third.

His son was killed in Season 2, correct? I just could have sworn I had seen all of the seasons already just so I would be caught up when the new one started.

I missed the episode last night, but it is waiting on my DVR. I finally caught up through season three and the first couple episodes of this season. I was really worried about what would happen in season 4 with the way the third ended! BOOM

Ok, watched the last episode over the weekend...wtf does the 4th of July have to fall on a Wednesday for? I don't like what that cliffhanger was implying :(

Season 5 starting in a week (July 13th)! Totally forgot how season 4 ended though.

Ok, I was given bad info at the time... But Season 5 really has started now! I thought the first two episodes so far were pretty good. I would have never recognized Michael J Fox (although he seemed 'familiar' at the time) unless I had read it in a review after already having watched the episodes. Guess he's only going to be in 4 episodes though.

This has become one of my favorite shows, which I never expected when I was watching Season 1. Lots of funny moments, but when they go for drama, they really know how to pack a punch. Love the way they creatively shoot some of the scenes. Its one show that can make me cry, laugh, and keep me on the edge of my seat all in one episode.

P.S. LOVE Tatum O'Neil's character. Hope to see more of her this season.

I had rented season 1 a couple years ago, but it didn't really do anything for me. Does it pick up the pace as it goes along or is it pretty much as-is and I wouldn't like it upon revisiting?

It depends on what you like out of a show. Character draw is huge for me. Quality cinematics and intelligently-written dialogue is really big for me too. I don't like plots that are spelled out for me or fit your typical episode TV model.

I think season 2 is what really hooked me, but if you have different expectations from TV, it may not hook you. If you like a show that can unravel and explore complex characters, then you should give it another shot. It's also pretty freaking funny at times.

That's really an unanswerable question. I'd say if you found nothing enjoyable or interesting in Season 1 you probably wont find much to like in what follows that.

Yeah, sorry about that. My phrasing was a bit ambiguous at best!

It is not that I found it uninteresting--the characters were pretty well-made. It is just that there was nothing that hooked me. I may give it another try at some point.

Just recently got turned onto this show by a friend of mine and my cousin. I just finished season 2 and plan to keep on watching through the next few seasons as quick as possible. Really good show, glad I gave it a shot.

I just finished season 5 of this the other night.. TALK ABOUT A CLIFFHANGER
[Show]
Obviously, Tommy isn't going to bleed to death because the show is planned to go on for two more seasons, BUT WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN!! I was also really disappointed to see Lou's hooker wife leave the show... again. She is HOT!
Really like this show, it's too bad it's only going to go on for two more (short) seasons, but I guess it's better that they end it while it's still good rather than drag it out like so many shows have done.

Series DONE! It wasn't bad imo. There are certainly worse shows out there.
