Shrek the Third
Just got home from seeing it with my gf. It's an awesome sequel.
As usual, they had some great adult innuendo mixed in with humor that children can like. I recommend seeing this movie.

Took my kids to see it over the weekend. I loved the movie, it certainly did the third in the series justice. I think the transgender chick is supposed to be one of the ugly (evil) step sisters from Cinderella that turned "good" in the second movie.

It just me or did Donkey and Puss get shoved way in the background of this one (Shrek as well to a lesser extent) and only came out to deliver a few one liners now and again. The princesses and Merlin stole the show for me.
Timberlake, I thought, did a shitty voiceover job, didn't like that one at all.
After 1 viewing of this one, Shrek 2 is still my favorite by quite a bit. I want to see this one again though.

The original will always be best, but I gotta say, this didn't disappoint. Fun times, good gags, lampooned a few fairy tale cliches. Thumbs up.

I rank it better than the second, not as good as the first. Pretty much the same as Pirates 3. #2, despite having some fine moments, was dragged down with the domestic squabbling.
I also did not like the Timerlake voice job. He was just the wrong fit for the character.

Although I thought Timberlake did fine, I didn't see the point of the character. I mean.. I did, but they could have done the movie without him. It's like they wrote his part in later.

Re: Shrek the Third
Shrek is trying to gay up your family
Shrek's not the problem. It's the awkward inclusion of a transvestite and the uselessness of the character himself (herself?) in the story that is troubling.
Right in the midst of a warm "traditional family" setting, the film writers place a man dressed as a woman in with Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White (the good gals). The crossdressing character simply doesn't make sense, except as a ploy to desensitize children and parents to transgenders.
Well-meaning parents who plan to take their kids to see a movie that grossed $122 million in the opening weekend should be aware . . . it's the subtlety of the movie makers' agenda to desensitize that could be more harmful to your children than encouraging them to eat sugary cereals in the morning.
