Looks neat, I wouldn't mind checking it out either.

it looks nice, probably the 'future' of tv(not joost specifically, but the delivery method), i wonder what they will do about revenue/license

built in ads before vids? banners?

i saw people giving away invites on another forum, sadly i dont post on there so i wasnt about to chime in for one

someone here ought to have a beta acocunt though

I don't know if Joost will be the ultimate winner, but I'm hyped about IPTV. More specifically, I want to put together my TV channels ala carte, paying for individual channels that I want, and also paying for specific events, like individual basketball games, etc.

Thanks Syenye!

I got an invite actually but I appreciate the offer.

If you go to their forums where it talks about blogs there are some links to some internal joost sites where you can signup yourself.

Thanks for the invite Syenye : )

The interface seems nice enough. It has the feel of a DVR with a fancy menu.

The picture quality could be a little better and was a little choppy for me but I did find an old Sci Fi series I've been wanting to check out (Lexx).

Seems nice but, of course, is severely lacking in content. If the major networks got on board with this, it might get rid of the need to torrent TV episodes (or grab them from newsgroups).

It doesn't appear to handle live events so I don't think it could develop into a into and IPTV one stop shop.

Nice, just needs content (and maybe improved picture)

Hmm. not that impressed so far, i managed to see the welcome video, and 1 more out of around 15 i tried, the rest just keep on saying loading.
And that was after turning off my firewall, p2p blocker and opening ports in my router to get it to work at all.

Neat application. I can't wait to see it in a year or two when they have a lot of content in it.

Here's some good news:
ABC to Stream HD Shows Online

ABC.com to Feature Content from Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty
By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 5/15/2007 5:37:00 PM

Full episodes of some popular ABC primetime shows will debut this summer in HD on the Web.

Disney-ABC Television Group claimed to be the first major television programmer to stream HD video online, at 1280-by-720 resolution. In a test the broadcaster expects to launch in early July, ABC.com’s HD channel will feature a limited amount of content in from such series as Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty. When ABC launches its new season in September, the site will offer a “more robust” HD lineup.

"This is all about innovating and creating ‘what's next’ to give consumers the best experience as they watch our content, regardless of viewing platform," Disney-ABC Television Group executive vice president of digital media Albert Cheng said in a prepared statement.

In addition to HD content, ABC.com's new broadband-video player will include national news and local content. The player will be “geo-targeted,” meaning that it can identify the area from which an Internet user is accessing the site and serve up corresponding content and ads.
Hopefully something like Trillian will eventually be created so you can access all the networks from the same interface.

I like the player - but right now (and I know this will improve) their selection is much too small.

I heard they were picking up adult swim which to me is pretty epic.

The only show I've had interest in actually watching on it thus far (about a month now) is Stella, which encouraged me to actually buy the DVD today.

thanks for the invite, unfortunately it doesnt work on non-intel macs, i guess ill install it on my PC once i have that up and running again

so from you people that have it, is it channel based, like watching it live, or do you pick individual show/episodes and watch those?
