I've been following this show for the last couple seasons. I have to say I really like it. (Of course, I like everything MMA!). This season is pretty crazy! The lightweights are fucking crazy man!

I have to say that one of the things that I like about the UFC is that President Dana White doesn't take any shit from anyone. This is the second season in a row where he has kicked someone out for breaking rules or just being stupid. Gabe Rudiger annoyed the piss outta me, and him not making weight was just a slap in the face to everyone around him. I'm glad Dana White stepped up and kicked his ass to the curb. I'm thinking that the tall black guy (can't remember his name) could be a nasty contender if he's got any sort of ground game. He looks like he can strike and he's definately hungry for it. At this point, not too many others are standing out to me. The younger Diaz brother is alittle too cocky or gangsta for me, but I guess you need to be in this sport.

I feel bad for Team Penn. I don't like Jens Pulver very much, he seems like an ok guy, he just annoys me for some reason. I was hoping to see Team Penn doing better.

I like the fact that at the end of the season the coaches will fight!!

I just caught a couple episodes, but was Gabe the one that was going to get his colon cleansed in order to lose weight? It was kind of sad that he was the only one that had to go that route. As to the tall dude you referred to, he would scare the shit out of me just based on his intensity and the amount of attention he spent when trainers were teaching him (at least in the two episodes I caught).

This is the first season I've seen, but I like the show so far. Gabe was annoying as hell. I wish I'd have gotten to see him get his ass kicked before he left the show. Him vs Corey Hill (tall black dude) would have been good, just to see a pro get beat up by an amateur. Andy is an idiot, that was probably the worst fight I've ever seen.

I feel kinda bad for Team Penn, they only have a couple guys who look like they have a chance, and that's only if they get to pick their fights. Team Pulver has some tough mofos.

I think Joe will win the next fight and Emerson will lose again.

Ummm please tell me you don't think "reality TV" is real, a well staged series of events with real fights is all it is

I don't for a minute believe that shows like American Idol and Survivor don't have scenes or situations that are purposefully set up. However, it's brutally apparent in The Ultimate Fighter that they don't make many efforts to control or steer the behavior of the fighters. They're given a very small rule set (no leaving the house grounds, make weight etc) and that's it. In the last 2 seasons, fighters have been kicked off the show.

What is it that you think is so staged or set up in regards to this show? Because honestly, I don't see it... they come right out and say in the beginning that the coaches are gonna fight at the end, and the fighters make it apparent who they hate from the beginning. Don't see a whole lot of room for Hollywoodization for this series like there is in so many others.

I think very little of it is real. I think those that last more than 2 weeks know it is a game, a game that has played itself out hundreds of times and is all a repeat of "Puck". The fights are real, the way they act is not.

I have to disagree... to a point anyway.

You have to have a certain type of personality to do what these guys do for a living. Now I'm not saying that you have to act like a fucking maniac like most of these guys do, and honestly some of the fighters are pretty laid back. However, put a bunch of guys in a house with no form of stimulaion other than their team-mates, and they're bound to do some crazy shit. I know if I couldn't leave, had no phone, no TV etc and was in a house with a bunch of other guys that I'd revert back to that football team/frat mentality and come up with crazy stuff to do just to stay entertained. In the case of this show, I don't think the producers ask for the guys to act insane or to "fake" reality. I think they set the stage and let the personalities and environment do the rest and just sit back and film the results.

I couldn't care less about the hijinx that go on in the house like that shit with the horse or when they were writing on the walls with markers...the interesting stuff is what goes on in the training sessions, the fight selection/contest aspect of it, and the fights themselves.

I am excited to see more of Joseph Lauzon. That kid came out fast and hard. Not sure if he could keep up a pace like that for long, but he has been the most impressive fight so far for me.

Joey Lauzon came out like a beast in his fight. I look at him to be a serious competitor. I see Joe Lauzon vs Manny Gamburyan to be the last fight. Those 2 are the guys I would least wanna fight if I was on the show. I'm really excited to see Marlon and Wiman fight! Marlon talks a lot of shit, and Wiman looks like a real fighter. They have different styles and I want to see who's real

Prediction: Wiman wins/wins it all, or Marlon wins/ Lauzon wins the tourney!

Edit: wow Wiman fucked Marlon up. I kinda saw that coming, glad to see team Penn back in the game.

That one dude is a pussy. The one guy that just laid there on his stomach while gray pounded him. Weems is his name I think? Funny to hear Dana White telling them to just stop the fight in the background.

Wiman destroyed Marlon. Here's my prediction for final 4:

Wiman, Lauzon, Gamburyan and Diaz.

I think final will be Lauzon vs. Wiman!!

Next weeks preview looks good, streetfight in the house!! I wonder if it's a real fight or if they're just horsing around?
